You don't have an mp3 player, a computer, or a cell phone? I couldn't care less about the Myspace/FB thing (I don't have either, btw) but I think you're just kidding yourself with that little argument :p |

People these days are passive or maybe passive agressive, as there are too many distractions. Pacified with too many connections plugging up free thought and intelligence. Everyone has a pacifier in their mouth, between ipod, myspace, facebook, cellphones, computers, there is no room or time for civil disobedience, or anything that requires some form of concscious ethical moral movement to ask government to change their ways. The days of courage and movements towards the common good of not only America's people but the World's people are over, replaced by a well distracted, pacified and conditioned people. There is also a heavy displacement in power between the Government and the People it governs, and that displacement seems to be growing. Everything the constitution seems to have been about has been reversed in many ways.
Just look no furthur than idoru, pkc, Sushipunk, great little piglets. |
Surely Facebook is good for civil disobedience because you can start groups and you can organise events that people can rsvp to.
Not sure how iPods will help though, but there must be some way. |

So you're one of the courageous ones, right? You're one of the few without pacifiers? |
Well if there is a threat that someone will kill me for simply pointing out the wrongdoings of this government, then I guess I am couregeous to an extent. But outside of that, no i'm not coureagous in the sense that you might apply the word to, ie some sort of stupid action to make a statement, that will be quickly forgotten. So in that sense, no not courageous at all. I simply do see the pacifier most people seem to not see it at all. What I said wasnt about whether me or any individual is courageous, its about pacified society that has really lost all power it once had, towards the domestic and foreign ethical and moral choices of the government. |

You make a point here, but I think it still ends up a baloon that fills up somewhat, mouth slightly slips from its connection, and the air is let out...with no net gain or result. And there are too many groups run by pretentious activists, they cant come to a common goal even if FB was utilized.
Anyhow, civil disobedience is not the answer. There are civil ways to create change, but even those are not being imployed by our pacified society. So dont get me wrong, civil disobedience would do almost nothing compared to civil routes the people and the interests they represent could take. But like I said, we are far too distracted and pacified to solve anything, not to mention the amount of fear that has been put into people through things like the patriot act, and other examples throughout the past 10 years that have silenced interest through psychological practices. |

| i love the term shill. it is hands down the most obvious indicator of someone who has for brains (insofar as it is used on an internet forum). |

What does me having those things have to do with my ability to observe and reason their purpose and one of the outcomes of their use by society? You make ty arguments. |

You implied that people were pacified by such things. Yet you have them too! You seem to consider yourself non-pacified, though?
Read what you said:

Once again, why does this intrigue you? What your saying basically is "you cant have observations/convictions about things you use yourself." Are you mad that I see the pacifier and you dont? Dont be mad, you can remove it too, once you realise it, its your choice at that point. |
