What you're doing is resorting to grade-school name calling, most likely because that's the best you have to offer up. And you should care, because in doing so, you do just come across as some perpetually disgruntled curmudgeon - is that the image that you wish to bring to the political game? You're talking about running for the libertarians if no one else in your riding does so. You should use reactions to your threads as a gauge for how people will consider you at the polls.
And for the record, I do vote and have written my municipal, provincial and federal representatives on many occasions. |

they probably won't because they won't be paying the $32,000.00 up front. It will be blended into the mortgage rate. |

Most of it would be. For CMHC mortgage insurance you need to put 20% down when you take posession, so $6,400 of it would need to be paid up front and the rest would be amortized over the mortgage. $6,400 doesn't sound like a lot but it definitely hurts to look at when you're already dedicating yourself to paying so much for a house.
The thing that bothers me about the HST, is that unlike the provinces that already adapted it, we aren't lowering taxes on everything.

As far as I can tell, the only thing we will be getting a bit of a tax break on is movie tickets (10% pst atm) and liquor (10-12% pst... yay!). |

That's a pretty good point regarding reducing the combined tax rate
But on the other hand... looking at the 2 examples provided, they reduced the tax to 13% which is where Ontario will be at right out of the gates. Does that mean Ontario should not have reduced our tax rate? |

actually we wont save on liquor. The liquor stores are changing their prices so that prices wont go down :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
