Really? I live here, I drive here every day and have been for 10 years. I think I know what I'm talking about.

What does the state of our infrastructure have to do with anything? I've driven through Cairo where there's 4 painted lanes and anywhere between 5 and 7 ACTUAL lanes and the traffic STILL isn't that bad. Just because our freeways/roads are easy to figure out doesn't mean traffic is easy. It's gridlock for about 4-6 hours a day during the week, even worse during the summer when everyone's trying to get to the beach and no one's in school.

Bas, you're a little bit off the mark. Granted I've only lived in LA for a couple of years, but I really don't find it that bad unless you live in the valley and try to get in to downtown or the westside every day (in which case it's your own fault for living in the styx).

I drive about 4-5 miles to my business every day and it never takes me more than 15 minutes even in rush hour.

I think the stereotype of LA having bad traffic is outdated or only for those who live too far away from their work or like self punishment on the 405.

And yes, I've driven in Cairo and it's a ing nightmare - worst place I've ever had the misfortune to be in a moving vehicle.

Ever wonder why all the 1960's Peugeot's have 1000's of tiny little dents in them? It's becuase instead of indicating, you just nudge the car in the next lane until they move over or crash.

I was out one night and our cab broke down so often that by the 4th time (in 10 minutes) I got out and got in to another cab only for it to catch fire. :wtf:

The pollution is 10 times worse than LA (for real) and when you get in a jam there it's truly unbarable because of the heat and smog and smellyness of the city.

Don't get wrong, it has some beautiful parts of the city and the people were incredibly warm but driving/traffic is not one of it0s selling points.

4-5 miles? Get the hell out of here, of course you don't have any traffic :stongue:

And yes, in Cairo you just honk and/or flash your lights a number of times in some kind of code to indicate what you're doing. It's like a second language.

I am content living in Montreal.

Honolulu a great spot. For the past decade I've been lucky enough to see it change for the best. The night life getting better and I hope in another decade it will be even better than Miami (long shot). It be amazing if someone from Hawaii can try and get WMC to change spots for a year. Hawaii my second home and nothing can never change that. Whats interesting about Honolulu, its also the 7th most expensive city to live in the US, right behind Miami :D

Only place in Europe I would move is most likely Munich. When I am there I feel I am back in Montreal for some reason. Plus there some really good fashion designers from there, so thats a plus for me.

I know Budapest and New York are not on the list they are two wonderful places. I do hope they make it onto the list within the next few years (probably will not happen). Seeing Budapest and all of Hungary have political problems constantly and have no real direction :( they for sure never have a chance getting on this list or only if Monocle turns their Top 25 into 50 (which could happen). Seeing a few years back it was a Top 20.

I guess I should try out Paris. I hope the France-Quebec business "swap" thing they are working on, will allow me to find a job there in fashion design.

You're probably one of those people who thinks Borat is a documentary.

I can’t believe none of the top 25 cities are located in Algeria. Who doesn’t love constant access to semtex?
