wow Space was much better back then  , I recently spent 2 weeks in Miami (got home like 36h ago) and I were really looking to be in THE Space after all of the rave reviews that I have read before planning my trip to Miami. Too badd when I were in Space during the 4th of July morning it is kinda meh as a TA. 2 huge hip hop rooms such a turn off and then that upstairs minimal techno room, torture. The saving grace was the terrace but the DJ would play some nice proggy stuff then back to the same thing as the loft again, meh.
from the pic and reviews from TA man I really wish I were there during Markus resident and other massive DJ booking, too bad I am about 5 years late :sadgreen: |

What's wrong with minimal Techno? This kind of attitude from all sides is what slowly ruined the music scene, fun times at all clubs and nightlife in general in Miami. You either like one and if u like the other as well you dont know squat about music attitude sucks ass. Why cant all music be good? What makes mine better than yours or vise versa? Oh well. Ignorance will always be plentifull in this world i guess :) Me? Im living life enjoying great tunes no matter what it is :toocool: |

the appeal of the terrace is definitely all about the open air. its not the same closed off | Closed off was not a bad thing. It was nice and cool which is good for Miami's 10 month summer.
Now if they did paint a fuking sky on it - yuck. the clear plexi still had an outdoor feeling minus the nappy hair/heat exhaustion.
I for one hope the hip hop is taken out. That mainroom is disgusting!!!! |

To some it up, all I'm saying is they don't give two s if there's 25 of us sitting here saying the bookings suck because there is 3,000 other people that will be in the venue every weekend spending money.

First off it is not just 25 of us on here that think Space has gone to . I know alot of people that used to go to Space who are not TAs & never have been, some do not even like trance, and they would not step foot inside Space now, NEVER.
Second & most importantly, Space not giving a the last few years is exactly why the quality of people and quantity of people that go to Space has steadily decreased to their lowest levels ever and basically have gone to . It is so bad LP even HAD TO move hip-hop into the mainroom, which LP himself would've told you never ever would happen 5 years ago.
LP clearly cared what people wanted & thought when he came up with the concept for Space, designed the club and installed that massive sound system in 2000 and then again in 2003 when they moved to the new location. That is exactly why Space was successful from the start at both locations, because LP actually gave a and deserves credit for that. LP also cared what people thought and wanted when he booked DJs @ Space the first 5 or 6 years, which is why the club & brand became huge and successful. The day LP and Space stop caring what their customers think or want is the day they should close forever, PERIOD.
And let me be clear that I wish Lp and Space all the luck in the world. They are a home grown business by people from Miami, which I never want to see fail. I truly hope this closing, renovation and reinvention by Space brings something different & great for us all to enjoy again. We'll see if that happens or not ... |

+1000000000000000000000000000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even worse if your not a smoker. its fuking annoying as hell to inhale second hand smoke all night that has nowhere to go because the ceiling is closed off.
that pretty much did it for me. i enjoyed most of the "better" house they were booking but mainly went cause of the open air. when they closed it off i gave up. |

I think the nights are Saturday & Sunday. The sliding-scale & higher prices they are charging for Sunday makes 2 things clear, LP is trying to make as much $$$ as possible and PVD @ Mansion for $30 is a no-brainer over this ... |

Eventhough Steve Angello to me is a train wrek since he plays all over the place.
Hes an up and coming morillo, last time he came turnout was massive. That they were talking about booking him again and do the entire club just him since it was sold out last time and shut down the loft around 2am.
Space will be closing for renovating after this night and will reopen in the Fall, date is TBD.
Heard from some people the renovation plan, sounds like a little to much. Will see how it ends up before saying anything. |
