Beatport #1 (pg. 7)

This also seems like a typical track he would've made just inbetween some gigs, on the plane or somewhere on the beach drinking his cocktails. Crappy, simple tune even if it wasn't a pre-made loop. And you know: simple music equals simple people, which equals mass and in turn equals $$.

Indeed another valid point.

That's indeed a huge debate on its own... Why does this simple music make so much noise when it comes out after all. I could easily say then... Why bother? I have seen many of those guys come up and down through the years. They all get much in a few years and then disappear, those staying in the background have most of the time a much longer life. At the end of the day those in the background make as much money without all those Bells and Whistles and keep doing their thing.

If you're like me you don't need those charts to make yourself an opinion,do you?

i never intended for the thread to turn into a "i like or dislike" the track but more that he's reselling something that's 100% done by someone else? i'm coming up with the worst analogies right now so i won't bother but i think, more from a creative standpoint it was just disappointing to hear this. the track's fine, it works, whatever, i guess i just expect more from people in the top of our lil world. i mean we all sample, but not like this.

imo i think he did the track, it sat on his computer for a while and he forgot where he came up with it. he loaded it back up, said yah this is cool and off it went.

So I just joined the forum again because I laughed my ass off at this whole thing... and to say +1 to this.

Weather we like it or not, sample CD's are just that. SAMPLES. They are meant to be used anyway you want. If you wanna add my dog barking to a sample and call it a song, than be it. In all honesty, this is no different than sampling Sweet Dreams and adding your own drums to it and calling it your song.

Whether I agree or not is a different story. :(

This track is lobotomizing the music industry, AND music production in general. When a sample is used blatantly as the central element, without camouflaging it, and then go release it as it was made exclusively by your own creativity, then that's a good recipe for getting critized. It IS different than sampling Sweet Dreams, because then you either make the samples you rip from that song unrecognizable for the listener, or you take credit only as the REMIXER, so even if you did base your whole track on 1 sample people were at least informed that you did.

Agreed with Anthony on the disappointment from someone so high up in the "ranks". I like his music all the same and the track works.

Also agree with DJwoody, its the same as sampling some another record but prob just a bit easier I would say as its already at the right tempo and in nice little 8 bar loops hahaha.

Did you guys see this track

paulec starkler - capone

It was released nearly the same day as Steve Angello's turd. Maybe somebody was up for the competition for using the sample and almost just made it before Steve...at least the loop is chopped and rearranged in this track.

For E-House you kind of have to.
Raphie
So, why not create an identical track, release it (just spend 20$ for fun) and start spamming the hype. .i.e. just post it in de SHM fanboyz group on Soundcloud)just to enforce a reaction.

See if you can have the label aproach you for plagiate. Now that would be great exposure.

If it's legally considered that 1:1 copy from Vengeance, than that should be no issue.
