I will admit, i could have done things differently for this event and I should have. Absolutely a lesson learned. It's tough reading the negative reviews... we really worked hard on this event.

Sorry again...

thanks for listening and not getting uber defensive, like people usually do :)
best of luck with future events!

should have advertised set times in advance,

if people cant realize the gardener is closed then that is their problem... not the promoters....

you don't need to hand hold people and tell them when to come so you can maximize $ spent on drinks/etc .

you misled your clients and now have a black eye for future events....

if you posted that TMB were on at 12, and everyone showed up at 11:59, then that's the choice of the customer

being a promoter means satisfying your customer

not the other way around

1 luv

agreed. like I said before... the decisions we made, albeit poor ones, were not made to deliberately sabatoge people's night. Quite the opposite in fact... (too bad they had the wrong outcome because our intentions were good)

For the record, we do not get a piece of the bar at Sunnyside and I agree with everyone that the drink prices are too high but I have no control over that and I pay for every drink... no hooks ups for promoters at this venue!

Pat Boogie I think next summer you should consider more day parties. This way you wont have issues with the sound being too loud at certain times or people skipping out early for other events. That venue is amazing in the sun and it boggles my mind that we havent seen many day parties there yet...

We try every year to organize daytime events at Sunnyside but the venue is always booked solid throughout the summer months. Usually the daytime is booked up with corporate events. We take what we can get because we love it there!

I'm actually shocked about all of the negative reviews. I personally had a great night.

We got there VERY early because we were driving in from Hamilton and didn't know what to expect as far as traffic. Drove around for about 45 minutes trying to find parking!!! Brutal. Only to find out from the bouncers that they don't enforce the after midnight no-parking rule in the lot right beside the venue.

I hadn't really heard of alot of the openers so I didn't know what to expect but I thought they did a good job. I'll agree that TMB should've been on earlier but I was kind of expecting that they would close out the night. They played alot of what they've been playing in recent sets I've heard of theirs. I wish we could've got up closer to see them because they are a fun duo to watch but it was soooo packed up front. We spent the rest of the night near the back (between the washroom and the fountain) where the volume was still pretty loud.

We left shortly after 2 because my fiance had to work in the morning. The place was absolutely packed when we left. I would definately go to another party there (as long as set times are released). Might hit up Dennis on Labour Day weekend.

Positives:

- Openers were good and TMB killed it
- The venue is amazing. I would love a good daytime tribal party there. Perfect venue for that.
- A huge group of friends with us.
- The vibe and crowd were awesome.
- Sound system was pretty good for an outdoor event (up until the volume was turned down)

Negatives:

- Parking situation.
- Drink prices.
- I'm glad they were there but the port-o-potties were DISGUSTING by the end of the night.
- The fact that TMB came on late and we only got to see them for 1.5 hours.
- Set times not being released. I hate waiting around not knowing when the headliner is coming on.

Whats everyone's deal with the parking situation? I parked in the parking lot on the west side of sunnyside with no problem. it was free and there was MORE than enough spaces for people. Anyone who had trouble with parking should have parked beside me lol.

800 tickets sold in advance = a guaranteed profit.

arrive early not to dissapoint = dishonesty to those paying customers

This is what I pull out of all of this.

I give him credit for taking the feedback constructively though

i was not deliberately deceiving people out of greed so please don't make it sound that way. I am not that kind of person and I try to conduct my business with honesty and integrity. It was an admitted mistake and surely something that i will not do again.

If I was in this business for the money, I would have retired 10 years ago. If there are some of you who really and truly had their night completely f*ckered by the whole arrive early thing because you were planning on hitting a couple of events in the same night, hit me up VIA pm here or on facebook and I will do something nice for you for my next Sunnyside event with Dennis Ferrer on Labour Day Long Weekend, Sunday, September 5th if you wish to attend.

well, considering the Toronto parking nazis, we wanted to be extra safe. $35 ticket is never appreciated!

The signage in the parking lots on lakeshore said no parking past midnight..yet they were fine apparently. So we managed to find some parking up on parkside instead.
