Deep House

So lately I've been getting more and more into this genre. I did a search of Music Discussion for some help but mostly found recommendation threads with tracks posted. Most of the threads that I was looking through were dated earlier than 2009. I'm not so much looking for single tracks - but rather some jumping off points to help explore the genre and more easily discover some tracks and artists that I can really enjoy.

In the Music Discussion, it seems that most threads asking for track recommendations die relatively quickly. I'm not interested in tracks, per se. I'd much rather start to become familiar with labels - and a few artists perhaps. I'm more interested in labels though. So my question, basically, is this: What are the most popular deep house labels today? And, which deep house labels do you think are releasing fantastic stuff and are really worth exploring?

A bit of background: I'm pretty new to the genre - I first started to take a keen interest in it through Culprit's parties at the Standard here in L.A.. As such, I've come to like a lot of the artists that release through Culprit - Lee Foss, Jamie Jones, Matt Tolfrey, and Soul Clap. I also became familiar with Wolf+Lamb releases and like that label. Additionally, after seeing Henrik Schwarz I made myself familiar with some of his productions - I really enjoy the soulful elements to a lot of his productions. That may not be the best way to put it- soulful. Some of it has elements of swing too it seems. Anyway, I really dig that stuff. Another artist whose productions I enjoy would be Nick Holder. I love Feelin' Sad, for instance - the mellow, soulful, mildly depressing Deep House really does something for me.

So what labels should I explore. Currently, I only buy music off of beatport but I don't have anything against purchasing music elsewhere.

Cheers--

Look through the track list of the mix I recently posted up, lot's of labels to go through there: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...2&forumid=73&s=

Likewise I'd recommend going through other track lists. Bas just put a new mix up and I'm sure the track list would provide some good reference points as well.

I find a lot of boring, generic and low-quality tracks on those labels.
