That was completely by chance btw, I was posting that and hadn't seen your post. But talons that walk on water, I'm all about it, as long as the hipster fags think they look ugly. |

Zero so far as I know, but I don't give a what other people think about me, and as a result I'm not a desperate approval seeker watching for everyones reactions to everything I do. |
Sooo... why'd you make the thread then? |

Because no matter what I do in the c0r it stirs the pot and it's always good for a larf. and just because I don't care what people think of me, doesn't mean I don't want to hear their opinions on subjects. |

| Unfortunately I think lying probably has its adaptive value for humans and through evolution humans will only become better at lying. |

It's an off the cuff reference to Joe Rogan's most recent stand up bit, "Talking monkeys in space". ing prolific hour of comedy, he really channeled Bill Hicks. |

I'm trying to understand what the point of these 'shoes' are?
Regular running shoes are supposed to reduce impact on joints, etc. What do these do? I get that it's supposed to be more 'natural' or whatever, but more than that? |
The idea is that, while regular running shoes are supposed to reduce impact, they actually make you run an unnatural way (heel striking) that tends to wear heavily on your knees, hips, and back. The vibrams absorb less impact, but force you to change your stride in such a way that you are using the bending of your feet, ankles, and knees to differently (supposedly more naturally) absorb the shock.
Is it the "right" way to run? Who knows, but it feels markedly different and is much easier on my knees than any other running shoe (or style) I've tried in the last decade.
In response to those worried about how you look in them, I couldn't give two s. I'm out there to run and exercise, not to be seen advertising my $140 Nikes with matching shorts, socks, and iPod armband... all in this season's hottest colors of course. |
