I would try to decrease your size in coffee first for a week or 2. Then decrease the amounts of coffee for another 2-3 weeks. The spread out the days you have a coffee. It will be a gradual decrease but you'll slowly get your body off the addiction.

Its tough because it tastes so good when it hits your lips.

but I thought "the new research" says that it is ok to have even up to 6 cups a day?:conf:

I quit cold turkey and started drinking tons of tea. I love green tea, so I usually have green matcha in the morning to help me wake up. In the afternoon, I drink mate. It's a Brazilian tea drink that has a similar effect as coffee without all of the side effects and caffeine.

I felt like for about a month and was having terrible headaches, but it was all worth it!

I like posts like this!

Gera - this is the one I saw - I would like to start juicing but yeah, the cost is kind of prohibitive.

read the reviews, many negative ones claiming it does not juice very well, the main part is the stainless steel blade that has to remain sharp for a long time, i suggest investing into a more expensive one with a much more powerful motor, it will last you years.

i dont have this one but it is considered really good and as you can see the price is..

I was a late bloomer to coffee. And after hearing horror stories about people trying to quite drinking coffee, I made sure that when I started, I didn't get addicted.

I barely ever drink more than one coffee a day, unless really needed. And rarely drink it on the weekends. If I don't need a boost, I typically don't drink coffee in the morning. (However, when I'm in school, I need boosts every morning during the week).

yes, I have read that the cheaper juicers are really inefficient. That doesnt mean you have to go and spend $200, but I would read reviews first!

The best way to get off coffee without all of the side effects is to reduce your intake very slowly. Start drinking one grande a day for a few days, then get a tall for a week, etc....
feelgood
I am the definition of a caffeine addict.

I work a desk job and we bulk order premium coffee here (mostly because of me and folgers/tims etc is crap). So there;s always fresh coffee on the go.

On average Ill have 5-6 cups per day. If I dont have 1 or 2 in the morning.. im groggy all day and will get headaches by 2pm.

I also regularly take caffeine pills before and during my races.

Its gotten to the point where Im having trouble sleeping, so Ive recently started decreasing the amount I take. I figure 2 cups of coffee a day is a good start. Its helped so far... Eventually I hope to get down to one per day, and zero pills for racing. Being dependent on caffeine is bad news.

So theres that

juicer's are expensive but are very worth it.

Green tea wakes me right up, I couldn't sleep if I drank it close to bedtime. As for juicers, the more expensive ones obviously last longer, but a big plus is that they get more juice out of whatever you put in, so you can either pay more up front, or more in the long run for fruits / veggies.
