I think you are right. Everyone would love peace, but the peacetalks rarely get anywhere because there is such a steep history between the two.
If they just sat down at a local starbucks they would get everything resolved in less than an hour.

I would support a mass distribution of weed to the Middle East. However, I worry about the consequences of the weed muchies....I can see them smokin an L and arguing whether they should go get Arab or Isreali hummus at the store.......

Not sure if anyone is following the so called "peace talks" that is happening now. I came across this interview and it is sad that the media doesnt look at both side of this conversations. The guy in this video makes a lot of good points.

Good video. It's disappointing that there isn't much progress being made so far. I doubt that negotiations mediated by the US will ever lead to long-lasting peace..
The main issue being tackled here is renewing a temporary ban on illegal Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank in return for Palestinian submission to Israeli policies. This doesn't take into account roughly 100 unauthorized settlements in the West Bank alone.. also the 'authorized' settlements are allowed to expand proportionally to the 'natural Israeli growth rate' (which includes recent immigrants..).
Anyways I have my fingers crossed that something good will arise from all of this.. It's ridiculous having nearly half a million illegal settlers occupying a large proportion of the West Bank.
