If it's going to be a random draw type of thing, maybe remove my name from the list. It's not that I don't want to participate, but it'd be a but unfair if someone drew my name and had to send something all the way to AU, when everyone else only had to spend $5 or something.
Or just make it if anyone draws my name, to just send a postcard from their city or something. I like postcards! |

a problem with this idea is i don't have the technical know-how to create a randomizer-script to choose a name.. um, at random. furthermore, it doesn't really give an option to people who actually have things that they WANT to give away, nor does it give people an option that want the stuff that others are offering.
again, i'd like to see us brainstorm a solution and then we can get this rollin, yo. |
Sounds like a good idea, imo. Maybe have people volunteer to be the original senders? There are online scripts on webpages that will choose randomly from a list. |

i think one of the caveats of the volunteering thing is that everyone has to expect the rare chance that they may have to send something internationally. i mean, they don't have to spend in $40 shipping if they keep the gift within reason (i.e. small enough to fit inside the small flat-rate box @ $10 international- totally reasonable).

Dude, I'm not trying to get out of this at all! I think it's a cool idea. It doesn't bother me sending stuff overseas, since I can claim the postage back on tax anyway :p Being a business owner has it's (few) advantages :p |
