my 2c tho:
*I think it should be a total surprise type of thing, so requests/wants probably ought to be kept to a minimum. A reasonable request, I think, would be something along the lines of..."hey i see you live in xxx. i've always wanted some xxx maybe you could hook it up?"
*At the same time tho- I think the person sending should be aware of these sorts of things...living in a big city or a different country, send something interesting or different. If I'm sending to someone who is into beer, for instance, I'll probably find out what styles of beer they like and try to send em some awesome beers that they would like and wouldn't be able to get where they are.
*Another thing about what to send: I would suggest that once you know who you're sending to...do a bit of research! If they've been around here long enough you should be able to figure out, if you don't already know, what sorts of things they're interested in!
*Probably people should take this at least somewhat seriously...yeah it'd be pretty hilarious to receive a package with lazer pointers, stuffed unicorns, paintings of rainbows, and a bunch of armada releases but i think something more thoughtful would maybe be appreciated more
*As for how to decide who ships to who...I'm not really sure. I'll volunteer to be one of the initial participants tho if we need just a few people to get this off the ground. |
