...and while Mills laid the groundwork for much of what we hear in Techno, there are about a dozen DJs I'd book ahead of him if I wanted to "tear someone a new ". His Live At The Liquid Room days are well behind him, he currently plays on a totally different bent.
...and I still hold occasional events where this kind of music is at the forefront for the evening, usually featuring underground locals who've been at it since the Transcendance days you mentioned.
