And btw... There is a simple solution to world peace....
It's the execution that is difficult... |

Plus, there are many organizations that specialize in drilling big holes in the earth with all the required equipment already available; whereas, there are no organizations that specialize in plugging oil leaks under thousands of feet of ocean. |
Way to go man. Only do a half assed job and have no contingencies to back up your plans. Bah. "We only know how to drill for oil and suck up the profit, not fix or have a plan if hits the fan." Idiots. |

I'm not saying that it's right, but pulling trapped minors from a mine is pretty much the same as drilling a shaft to begin with; whereas, capping a well is not the same as drilling the well. |

Way to miss the point. In a world so bombarded with cynicism/pessimism/negativity, a story like this is just what people need to remind them of what man is capable of. I think many would agree that there isn't enough media coverage of stories like this. |
+1
More positivity! |

I'm giving up on this argument...they are missing the point |

I'm talking about the ability of our engineers in solving engineering problems...
You're comparing a broken nail to world peace... |
Apparently I have to grossly exaggerate to make the point clear.
Oil well and mine shaft are different problems, different solutions. |

Well obviously there Skippy....
Different problem different solution but they both require problem solving is all that I'm saying...
Now do you really think that the same amount of effort was put towards the oil spill than as this rescue???
Not a chance. Know why? Priorities...
One was loss of human life the other environmental...
Anyway... They're all safe... I'll anxiously wait for the movie... |

well, broken nails are essentially a problem. it's just an example she gave. if they can take out the chilean miners why haven't they figured out broken nails? it's just as difficult to figure out one problem as another. |

i think more brain power went into solving the oil spill than getting out the miners.
the drilling and procedures for rescue were already in place for the miner resue. they knew where to drill, they had all the stuff ready to go. |
