| Im in the market for some new high end earbuds. Looking at the shur SE425, but they are a little pricey. Wondering if they are really worth it? |

Assuming you'd be down to spend this much (and you should be with your big poker wins :))
These are the best headphones I have ever used...
The Sennheiser HD25

They are a lot slimmer and less goofy looking than a lot of other dj headphones, so you wouldn't look like a complete tool wearing them around places other than a dj booth. And they sound amazing. Great noise cancellation as well. They run about $200 though... |

LOL...yea, took down the 22r again last night.
I was looking for earbuds, just because of the portability of them, however that is a very persuasive review.
These are the ones I was looking at

Be careful with ear buds, some are really horrible for your hearing.
Id stick with some headphones. Maybe a pair of Sony MDR 7506s...or those Sennheiser ones that Zack posted (killer sound) but double the price of the Sony's |

A couple things to know about earbuds:
- You have to "burn" them in when you take them out of the box for the first time. Usually it's a 50-hour period before they sound like they were intended to. So leave your MP3 player on in a drawer for a few days and let them play out.
- There's no such thing as true noise-canceling headphones or earbuds. People buy them thinking that they won't hear anything but the music, but you're going to hear ambient noise regardless, whether it's the cord rubbing on your jacket or people talking around you. As long as the sound quality is good enough, you don't need to buy 'noise-canceling' earbuds (most noise-canceling is bull anyway).
- A lot of the newer high-end earbuds have this design where the cord goes up and around the top of your ear and then the monitor goes downward into your ear canal. If you wear glasses then don't buy any earbuds that are designed this way, because they will rub up against the glasses and create noise. |

I'm in the same boat. I really need new earbuds (since the default Apple/iPod/etc. ones don't fit in my ears properly..they ALWAYS fall out!) ..And carrying around my headphones is just bulky.
I don't care about "noise-canceling" just good sound quality and a pair that won't damage my hearing.
I heard some good things about these:
