I wasn't there, so I cannot comment on what Nic played, but who cares if someone gives a bad review b/c they didn't like what was played that night? Not everyone is going to like the music every time - even if they're fans of the DJ. I'm not a fan of every set that Sasha or Ferry spin.
I'd much rather hear a bad review every once in awhile than a bunch of ball licking where EVERY review on TOTA of EVERY party of EVERY DJ was "OMG THE BEST NIGHT I'VE EVER HAD!" I found that we were getting a lot of that at one point. |

i have no problem with a bad review as long as it is written accordingly. i think its unfair to say a dj sucked and to bash him (ie. you could've farted in to a mic and it would sound better) when you didnt enjoy the tracks the he played. in my opinion a dj only sucks when he or she cannot mix properly. a difference in opinion regarding music style doesnt mean they suck as a dj. |

| He was fun last night in Windsor, not much proggy stuff... and more tech house, but he was playing alot of fun old school ravey house towards the end and he was having a great time! Lots of fun... |

Fair enough. I guess your opinion regarding why a DJ sucked differs from some people then (me included). IMO, yes mixing is a factor, but track selection is also a factor for me. |

heres how i see it...
i dont like drum&bass but that doesnt mean that djs that play that type of music are crappy djs._the same goes for hip hop. |

I agree with you. But I think there's a difference btwn being able to respect another style of music and not liking the track selection a DJ you like plays.
Would you go to a drum and bass event just b/c you respect that type of music. Maybe, but likely not. The difference here is that they went to see a DJ that they often like, and didn't happen to like the track selection he played that night. See what I'm saying? |

Programming the set well is also another factor. Anyone can just beatmatch almost any random EDM tracks but it won't sound good. |

If a DJ who is known for playing cutting edge, underground music (such as Nic Fanciulli) cops out by playing cookie-cutter tech house cheese, even if he mixes well, his set still sucks. |
