Now don't wack job me just yet, I am NOT reading Tarot cards all day but I have found at times when used with a clear mind you can get answerers from them. It's just a source of diving for information on an issue but I did fall in the 31% but I always thought I was a little more clever than the average Astrology believer has I don't live by then day to day or even year to year but just a basis for personality traits, now this has come to fruition on me.

Sorry, you’re still a nutter.

Not so fast; some astrologers are saying this shift is bull.

Every now and then some astronomers dig out the Precession of the Equinox and write some piece as if astrologers never heard of it, usually to the effect of, “Hey, your astrological sign got moved, you gotta get it changed!”

Astrologers have known about this for millennia. Seriously, millennia. Aristarchus of Samos noticed it back in 280 BCE. What happens is that due to a wobble in the Earth’s orbit our relationship to the zodiacal constellations is in a constant shift. Our main point of reference here is what we call the Equinoctal Point, that is the point on the zodiac where the Sun is at the second of the spring equinox -- typically on March 21, but with leap years and depending on what time zone you’re in it could be the 20th. That particular point has been sliding backwards at such a slow rate that it makes a full cycle every 26,000 years. About 2,000 years ago that point was at the beginning of the sign of Aries, and a funny thing happened…

But first… for the many years before that astrologers had been noticing planetary motion and developed the system of signs. As with any developing body of knowledge they would slowly revise their descriptions of the signs as changes became evident. And the nature of the signs would change over the years to match the shift in stellar positions. Actually some astrologers still do that. They are called “sidereal astrologers” and siderealism is practiced rather little in the West, but it’s very big in India where the system is called Jyotish, or Vedic Astrology. In the west we generally prefer the “Tropical Zodiac”

Behind the “Tropical Zodiac” is the idea that the Zodiac of Signs is different from the Zodiac of Constellations. Building on Aristarchus’ discovery of the Precession, Hellenic astrologers figured that we are dealing with a system of interacting planets, the Moon and Sun. The stars are markers that drift, but our main points of reference are not directly the stars. They are the equinoxes (both spring and vernal) and the solstices which altogether make the four cardinal points of the zodiac which in turn determine the signs. The stars help us locate those points which define the SIGNS of the Zodiac which remain constant in relation to the equinox point. The CONSTELLATIONS do move about and we take that into consideration when locating planets.

This may be a bitter disappointment to people who don’t like their signs and thought they had a chance to change them. No sign is better or worse than any other. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. A better approach would be to find a good astrologer who can tell you what your sun sign and the rest of your chart really are good for.

Is your Zodiac sign wrong? That's the hot topic in mainstream media, which is suggesting that the Moon's gravitational pull may have shifted the Zodiac by a whole month. Don't panic. Our expert astrologers are stepping in to set the cosmic story straight.

It wasn't long ago that news of Pluto's planetary status being bumped to "dwarf" was all over the headlines. And it seems that every six months or so scientists unveil new planets and celestial bodies in our galaxy.

It's fine and dandy to keep tabs on the amazing discoveries in our solar system, and we're always glad when Astrology hits the national news. But when that news is wrong... well, we Daily Defenders need to swoop in and remove the cosmic clutter.

One such bit of cosmic clutter is a FOX News story by Jeremy A. Kaplan ("Age of Aquarius Actually Age of Capricorn, Thanks to Rotation of the Earth"), in which Kaplan refers to findings from the Minnesota Planetarium Society that suggest there's been a "one-month bump in the alignment of the stars" and that astrology is "all wrong."

This and other news stories as heard on TV, radio and print all seem to suggest a state of astrological emergency -- YOUR SUN SIGN MAY BE A WHOLE MONTH OFF!! Do not panic. That's FALSE.

Unlike the scientists who did not check their facts, we went straight to astrology expert Jeff Jawer to clean up this cosmic clutter and explain what really is going on.

"There is no truth in this," Jawer said. "Western Astrologers use the Tropical Zodiac, which is based on the seasons, not the signs. Anyone who seriously researches the subject would know that."

Jawer shares these three simple facts to help clear up the astrological matter (pardon the pun):

Astrology is Earth-centric. Not Star- or Moon-centric. If the Moon's relative position to the stars changes, that doesn't mean the Zodiac changes.
Western astrologers have used a Tropical or season-based Zodiac for about 2,500 years. That is why time and location of birth are so important.
The signs of the Zodiac, while represented in constellations, are not derived or aligned exclusively with constellations (although they did so coincidentally around 2000 years ago.)
The good news? This lunar shift isn't news. Western Astrology as we know it remains intact and you will not be faced with a horoscope sign identity crisis anytime soon.

So maybe you don't have to switch after all. I'm not sure what to make of all this.

The thing that pisses me off the most about this is that I just ing KNOW that some god damn hippy retards out there are going to start acting totally differently all of a sudden, in line with how they think the traits of their "new star sign" should be.

Rage.

Doubts about a friend's motives could plague you today, Cancer. This person seems to be acting strangely and isn't communicating. This probably has little if anything to do with you. This person has issues that he or she is having trouble with. There are others who are in a better space whose company you will enjoy at this time. Get together and enjoy the amiable atmosphere.

I feel like there's some ulterior motive, here, Sushi. Ever since those floods, you've been a little tense and I'm sure this isn't directed at me. I know it must be stressful for you. I'm going to go hang with Lira in his water balloon thread.

Wow! That's pretty accurate.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!

IF you were born in 2009 and beyond this new thing applies to you

past that; here is something I really want to question

If they divided up the amount of time for each zodiac sign; which they did

why didn't they just add more time to the calendar and create a new month while keeping the original 12 zodiac signs?

It seems like they could of added more time (days) to the current calendar instead of a new zodiac

Humanity is to confined to their enslavement 12 months 365 days 24 hours 7 days a week

I don't buy into any of this bull of a new Zodiac addition; (False prophetic sign) revelations

Yeah, because it will suddenly take us an extra month to revolve around our star, right?
