Who's stopping you from doing a garage mix outside of the competition and sharing it? ;)

Totally wicked set. The whole thing had me drooling. Absolutely delicious, from start to finish. Mixing was beyond excellent, flow was outstanding, and the tracks were gold. So very tasty and lush. My favorites had to be 48 minutes and the more hip-hoppish tracks in the back half. This is exactly what I envisioned when I suggested Trip Hop. You executed this perfectly. I'll be listening to this plenty more times.

Ian, I'll get to your mix later. I finished my set today also, I'll be posting it in a little while.

very very nice mix Teez. listened to this while rocking in my chair.

Thanks everyone who's listened and for the comments, much apppreciated. :)

@Ian - I didn't think this was as bad as I was expecting from what you've said. I didn't have any problems with the flow or really feel any horrible clashing or anything. Would the last track be considered dnb? Either way I enjoyed that track a lot and I'm certainly no expert on IDM. Only complaint here is that it would have been nice had it been a bit longer, I wanted more.

I really don't care for hardstyle. However, even in a genre with a severe lack of ideas, there are a few gems. I actually kinda had fun making this set; I looked for the most unique recent tracks and tried to execute them as well as they could be. I kept it short, as too much of this stuff just hurts my eardrums. I also made sure I kept a distinct line between Hard Trance and Hardstyle, trying to blend some of the better parts of Hard Trance while maintaining the Hardstyle flavor. Knowing me, I built it up to some of the hardest business around, and then threw in a full-on psytrance + Hardstyle crossover at the end. :p

Headhunterz - Dreamcatcher [Scantraxx Reloaded]
Alphaverb - Rockin Da Rework (Extended Mix) [AVIO Records]
The Machine - Times Like These [Sys-x Records]
Donkey Rollers - The Fusion of Sound [Fusion Records]
Catatonic Overload - Paralyzed [Theracords]
DJ Thera - Underground [Theracords]
Impact - Carillon 2010 (Zapp Mix) [Hardstyle Germany]
Geck-0 vs Thera - Trespassing [Theracords]
Aladdin - U Know This [Meira Records]

Nice mix, Teez. You clearly know your way around the genre, and dropped a lot of classics. The mixing was very good, occasionally sounded a bit out of key but mostly very smooth.

Well if full on is anything cheesy in psytrance that you don't like, then yes, otherwise no.

Thanks for listening mate. I thought it would be a pretty obvious looking list of artists especially for people like yourself that really know their shiz. I've been quite fond of trip hop for a long time but had never taken the time to make a mix out of it. I didn't do an awful lot of digging with this, preferring to make good use of what I already have. It actually turned out better and smoother than I had first expected so I can't complain.

Good stuff zip. Haven't really been a keen follower of hardstyle for quite a few years now and didn't know any of these tracks although honestly I like my hardstyle a bit deeper and more brooding. Technically I liked it, I couldn't fault anything, well mixed and had a steady building kinda flow. I really liked how the tune around 33 mins was bought in. Like Ian's mix it would have been nice being just a bit longer, but I guess if it hurts your eardrums, it's more than adequate.

It's cheesy and it's full on. And . Simple as that.

That's one of the things I tried to avoid, is to make it too deep and brooding, as I felt some of the tracks from Straight On Black were more Hard Trance than Hardstyle. It was difficult to draw the line, because some of those tracks were super cool. I just didn't want there to be two hard trance mixes this round. :p

Rodri Santos, you suggested this genre, why haven't you listened yet?
