Could I get some recommendations for war movies? Specifically, I would like stuff that has drawn out battle sequences, not too much music and dialogue if this is possible. (I want to rip the sound.)
Aside from that, any good war movies would be very cool. |

| Red Dawn. When I was a kid we used to make tape-recorded skits and Red Dawn had ample sound effects for that without a whole lot of music. |

Red Cliff!
And then I've always been very fond of Apocalypse Now, but you've probably seen that and it's not exactly what you're looking for. Das Boot is fantastic as well. |

Lots of good recommendation already...
Platoon
The deer hunter |

| Joss Weatherby |
I loved Generation Kill.
Jarhead was pretty good too.
Its not really a war movie, but Charlie Wilson's War was interesting (its about the Texas rep who got all the funding for the insurgents in Afghanistan during the 1980s, he also liked coke and busty women). |
