Totally Agree with that.
Really looking forward to finally seeing the Kings Speech, but it will have to wait another week.
Christian Bale was fantastic in the Fighter. |

| I loved The Town, and I'm no Affleck fan. I can't stand Bale usually, but he really did an excellent job in The Fighter, and I'm surprised to be rooting for him this year. |

| Alright. I missed out on 2010 movies. Anything that I really should watch? |

Last year was brutal for movies imo. Only ones that stick out in my memory are a couple 3D/IMAX movies that were good for their effects but wouldn't be anything special to watch at home... |

+1 to all that. Loved The Town. Def. one of my fav. movies of 2010. And I also agree with everyone that thought that Bale was fantastic in The Fighter. Another really great movie.
I also saw Black Swan recently, and Natalie Portman was incredible. She should def. get the Oscar for her role in that movie imo. Such a ed up movie. One of those movies you'll either love or HATE. Dark, and very artsy.
I really want to see The King's Speech! I have a feeling it might win best picture. We'll see!
One movie that I thought was hugely overrated, was Inception. I honestly did not think that movie was anything special, and I'm a huge DiCaprio fan. The best part of that movie was the overall concept, and the ending. I expected more visually, and the acting was pretty weak. |

ohhh... I like you
Inception was so overrated. Maybe I've read stories similar to Inception's plot in many sci fi books, (see cyberpunk) but overall plot was pretty weak. Dream within a dream within a dream? WTF... |

The fact that Nolan used Hollywood's trappings to get such a complex story to such a massive audience was a great accomplishment in my eyes. Few movies can get that many people involved in discussion about the intricacies of its storyline while standing around the water cooler the next day.
Having said that, I personally thought it wasn't all that great, and I'm a huge Nolan fan. |

amazing movie for sure.. so glad we went to see it a few weeks back
the best part about is the sharp British humour I love so much :) Colin Firth is a solid Oscar, no doubt! |

I finally got around to seeing The King's Speech on Friday. It def. deserved the Oscar. And Colin Firth deserved his as well. Great movie!
Was also happy to see Christian Bale win best supporting, and Natalie Portman for best actress. Very happy with those results as well :) It was nice to see so many great movies nominated this year, unlike last year where nothing really stood out. |

The show overall, still sucked last night.
For awhile I wasn't sure who looked more like they'd had a stroke: Kirk Douglas or James Franco.
So much for the "younger demographic" experiment. Anne Hathaway looked pretty as always, but that was about it. Franco looked lost. NEVER put Mila Kunis on stage with Justin Timberlake again. Timberlake fires out that Banksy joke, and all you could hear was crickets. IF YOU CAN'T TELL JOKES - DON'T TRY!!!
Billy Crystal gets on the mic, and the entire crowd was like "Thank God"! The only entertaining bit of the night was Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law cutting up.
I guess if I want to be entertained by an awards show, I'll have to wait for the AVN's. |
