We recently went to VIP Ultima and its WAY better. Much larger roster of relevant artists and their feedback system is much more sophisticated. Highly recommended. |
I've looked at the site.
I'm struggling to see the point of it? Looks like just paying for feedback?

but's that's like paying 30 euro's as artist, to dump your free promo's into a pool. So the DJ's get their free playlist and you still sell ? I mean on Beatport i get played with new releases and purchased if they like me. I am not looking for A&R, i am looking to sell.
I might tray the 14 day free trial, see how much traction i get, but for me it seems quite expensive |

Its about promotion. Member artists basically get the tracks for free and early by being members of the site. The reason it has value is that the member roster has a ton of big name DJ's.
Case in point, any track on ASOT, TATW, GDJB, Nocturnal, etc gets bigger sales as opposed to tracks that are just "out there". A lot of those podcasts and radio shows are some of the most popular in EDM and get played regularly on places like XM/Sirius. Also remember that these types of shows thrive on exclusivity. They want the music before its available for sale to the general public. Its all about creating a "buzz" for your track before it goes on sale.
There is a long history of artists being launched simply be being charted, played on a compilation, or otherwise supported by a big name DJ. Sander Klienenberg basically took off after he got two of his tracks on Sashas GU013. He still rides that wave today.

well i posted the track on the production forum and everyone agreed it was a good track just needed some fixes i agreed with and fixed them, i've played only once on a club with very good reactions, i used short of a psychological effect.
I heard that the Backstreet boys got famous because of a videoclip where they were chased by female fans completely mad about them, they appeared like a really sucessful band when they were nothing at that point. In my case i used crowd noises at some parts of the track and it's kinda contagious, people start to scream in the same way too, is a catchy track but on the production side it can be a bit amateur.
In conclussion i highly doubt is a worth track from them despite of this since i see they play very polished stuff, i mean they have loads of very good stuff and mine is possibly "less good" but on the other hand i can send to them without any major risk, i will upload a sample tomorrow so you can judge if it is the kind of thing they could be interested in. |

nah i don't expect to be famous tomorrow :) i had no hurry for signing a track, i have no hurry to play on amnesia... but just thought that why not trying to speed up things a bit :p if one of this names plays your tracks then is like you passed some steps and sending them an email is not hard, just wanted to know some self experiences and i think you are the man seeing your signature :)
And what about that Breakfast story, i heard he put a demo cd during a gig @glow but haven't got much information. Well i am not even close to Breakfast so i'd not bother him giving a cd to Ferry besides i'll be very close to him in 2 weeks :D |
