Like Armin, and Tiesto have?

Doesn't Deadmau5 have a label too?
arskinetica
I've learned a few things about self-promotion, but EDM seems to be different from other genres.

What I've learned is far too vague.

Which labels dominate the EDM genres?

A lot of the stuff which I have seen physically is Ultra, or are they just a US publisher.

I know I am getting ahead of myself, but I am eager to learn as much as possible to formulate where I should go from here.

You go to any typical American music store that existed (they used to exist), and if you browse the atrocity that is the "dance/electronica" section, you'll get a very small sample of what dance music is from like 2-3 years ago. You'll mostly see compilation albums there by known djs and labels.

If you go to a dance record store that sells 12" records (do they exist?), there is more variety. You'll see stuff published on the known labels, small labels with 0 promotion, and rare white label pressings of a few hundred copies, and everything in between. The small labels, and white labels with little promotion if any are a big part of many DJs' repertoire. And a lot of "dominanat" labels exist, so it's really hard to pin down.

Some of the biggest EDM labels:

-Armada (Ex owner Armin van Buuren) Several sublabels some of them famous on it's own like Coldharbour Recordings (Markus Schulz) or Vandit (Paul van Dyk)
-Ultrarecords
-Black Hole Recordings (Ex Tiesto)

Mid size:

-Mau5trap (Deadmau5)
-High Contrast / Be Yourself Music
-Toolrom Records (Mark Knight)
-Enhanced Recordings (Will Holand)
-Anjunabeats (Above & Beyond)
-Flashover Recordings (Ferry Corsten)
-Garuda (Gareth Emery)
-Be Youself Music (Tiesto)

This are the separate biggest EDM labels, Armada owns half of the other "major" labels but this are the labels that dominate the beatport top 100, specially the trance top 100 i don't look the other styles top that much but Bedrock or Tresor are big Techno Labels for example.

You're quite misinformed, or maybe I am.
Be yourself (as far as I know) has never been run by Tiesto or associated to him in that way. As far as I know Armin never left Armada behind.

Never noticed Vandit was part of Armada.

This post was heavily edited.

I don't know who owns be yourself but i haven't ever put Tiesto was in charge of Be yourself.

Tiesto is related to black hole:

quote:
Black Hole Recordings B.V. is a Dutch record label founded by DJs Tijs Verwest (Tiësto) and Arny Bink in 1997

And musical freedom:

To release the album he has set up a new record label called Musical Freedom after parting ways with Black Hole Recordings

Vandit on Armada:

Armada and Armin:

Armin now is the owner of Armind sublabel of Armada but apparently he is no more in charge of the whole thing.

I don't know if i edited this maybe i added some labels i considered i was missing and shouldn't but the info is accurate.

You did ;). This entire list is naming the respective owners, so why would Tiesto be the odd one out? A small mistake i guess?
