Proud/happy 92 rotary owner here... still waiting to find a mixer that is a worthy replacement... this looks nice, but not sure i'd drop $2400 for this. ;)

What I don't like on the 800 is the fact that the EQ's suck, like OMG can they be any worse. There is this delay when lowering or making them louder... This is making me want to go grab a 92 with rotaries...

i wonder if they made them better...

wait maybe google will sue them for the nexus name

Is that right about the eq's? There's actually a delay/latency? I didn't notice that the last time I played on one.....but I wasn't enamored with the thing anyway so I might have missed it.

is it possible the eq's are controlling the EQ's in traktor and you are experiencing latency ? I just don't see how they could mess that up.

I'm not sure sure but it could be because it's a digital mixer adn therefore converts everything, so when you're using the EQ it's really software changing those values rather that a potentiometer with corssover points affecting the audio signal.

I could be wrong but that would be a plausible explanation if indeed the EQ's have latency and it's not controlling traktor.
Shudder

i swear this mixer is only made for zabs

Yep, but the filters on the 800/900 sound really grainy and haven't got anywhere near the control the 92 filters have, so if you really need to cut the bass out of a track the EQ can be your best option.

How can you say that about the filters on the 900 when the mixer is not even out yet? For all we know, they could've improved them on the 900. I remember the echo on the 600 sucked, than when the 800 got released, the echo was completely redone.

I dont have any dj software just 2 cdj mkIII's and 2 1200.. the latency is there.

Eh, I kinda dig it for a Pioneer. The minor tweaks seem nice (symmetrical design, improved fader design, option to set eqs to full-kill). I've always thought that their layout was pretty lucid for almost anyone to pick up.

The effects are naff. I hope the filters are redone. I hope the eqs are redone to be more sharp and crisp sounding (basically make both the filters and eqs act like xones). Then make it sound like a xone and you'd be set.

Fair point, but I seriously doubt it. I've never once heard a Pioneer fan complain about the quality of the filters and they haven't mentioned it in any of the text or videos I've seen about the 900.

And either way, you can tell from the picture that it's still just a single high/low pass knob, so you're still not going to get anything like the control you get with the Xones.

I hate the filter on the 800.. Every time i use i feel like i'm damaging people's ears so i have to use it in conjunction with the high eq, reducing that while i use the high pass filter.
