I believe they meant this coming November, but I'm not too sure. All I know is that the person who told me is quite close with some of the owners, so I'm fairly certain that this is true. I'm not trying to spread gossip, but I just thought it would be a really sad day for a lot of people if that happens. |

True, but it does cost money to keep an establishment like that running. Compare that with a multi-million dollar deal to purchase the lot. It's easy money. Add all of the property tax for the condos that are sold, and it has to be more than the Guv is bringing in. |

Anyway, I didn't think Gareth was bad at all. The only stupid thing was this hyped up "concert" that turned up to be one song with Gareth on the piano, some dude on a guitar, and Gareth's sister( or wife??) singing. Btw, there was no sound coming from her at all...
Joe Manzone played a really good opener and had to play a half hour extra since Gareth was late... |

"Well last night in Toronto was absolutely ing unbelievable. Four hours of total bliss and probably one of my best gigs of all time...... thanks too all that came for being part of it, much love!"
Also, I'm pretty sure it's his sister, and it's true you could barely hear her at all. I did think the live guitar solo was pretty cool though. |

Maybe you should make some threads about how much Gareth sucks, just like the tired and played-out Deadmau5, Armin, Guetta, Tiesto threads.

gareth wasnt late. his set time was changed to 1:30 during the night. |

I don't like Gareth Emery because I happen to think his style sucks. And I'm probably passionate about trance just as much as you do. So I care about the music. And I think Gareth Emery is one of those guys destroying trance. So I feel like telling people about it.
If you disagree with me. That's fine. It's your opinion to like Gareth Emery.
Do I need to tell everyone about it? Eh. Opinions are like s. Everyone has one. (and until Swamper tells me to STFU because I'm violating the forum rules, you're stuck with it)

Regarding guv closing story, sounds like hearsay one way or another. Think about it that whole area is empty and and extremely underutilized. So many empty lots, unused space, random businesses etc around Queens Quay East. Why would they shut down one of the few successful operations when they could use those instead? The only condo going up there is Pier 27 (link, check it out) and it wasn't an overwhelming success in presale. What's more likely is over time they clean up the area, gradually more condos like that one pop up and then it gets shut down from resident complaints but that's many many years down the road...
Regarding Gareth the live portion of it was definitely over hyped/over anticipated. Too quiet, too short and not enough blending with the actual music going on. Would be cool to see an up close vid of it if ones out there though cause what I did hear was good. The extended set itself was great though more bells and whistles than your regular deal and he kept the pace going nicely. |

I think you might. You're right that the rules of the internet are quite simple. Did you read any of the actual reviews? Not a bad one there, but yet you feel the need to chime in with your obligatory "Gareth sucks." We all know you don't like Gareth Emery. Leave the dead horse alone. |
