What the . That is not how any thread "should" be.
What's the point of frequenting any community if having fun with the people there is immediately extinguished? It sounds like the internet equivalent of a middle-school classroom. No thank you. |

I always liked the freewheeling, low-babysitting nature of TA. It's never been some stuffy place where people have to tiptoe around each other for fear of the moderators.
That isn't what changed around here.
Somewhere along the line trolling and complaints became the dominant theme rather than an amusing side act. Even the people who were capable of giving valuable stuff back stopped doing it as much, and when they did, a lot of it was now in the form of "Hey, here's a neat link to a blog / video / interview!", rather than a self-authored post or tutorial. |

| I'll admit the trolling is getting out of hand. The smart-ass answers to everything like side-chaining in threads where people are asking legitimate questions kind of makes me wonder what the hell people doing here. I'm all for dicking around but having fun at the expense of threads that offer a chance to legitimately help someone is a bit over the line. |

If the prime function of this forum is to behead noobs who ask "stupid" questions than nothing needs to change, a lot of teens find this cool and feel "connected" with the "big guys" who just like to derail. Forum serves it's purpose just right. However people now find that this behaviour is just eroding the forum, together with the "consensus" on what can and can't be discussed.
PALM starting a "mastering frenzy" just to piss people off, or make a point, people belittling Caleb until the guy just gives in and calls it a day. The DJ guy in that other topic, because he's provoked till being pissed off, and a topic initially about ghost production is derailed and provoked with finesse.... IT'S NOT FUNNY ANYMORE GUYS... people just give in and stay away.
In a few more weeks we will just have Kysora still listening his mixes in Winamp (WTF is that about, can't even configure his FLStudio properly to monitor after being here for so long, talk about progression) Butler playing nice doing some reviews, Kit playing saint and being the knowitall, M4B provoking as much as he can, PALM, just lurking around the corner to jump in and then some others.... THAT's it, nobody else left...... almost forgot Storyteller & MSZ trying to be as blunt as possible every now and then.
That's it; that's the cast of TA...... S11...
If that's what you want then please continue, you're well on your way..... Have your little kingdom and be happy, but no one else will be interested anymore. |

off, raphie, I've never personally insulted you or your music, who the do you think you are to belittle me? What have I ever done to you? Disagree with your view of what a "good" forum is? You're ing 40 years old and trying to put down a 19 year old who's been making music for, what, four years? Way to set an example, you're a big ing man.
You can bitch about immaturity around here all you want but it takes a lot of nerve to do that while you tout off unwarranted personal insults in lieu of having anything worthwhile to say. As far as I'm concerned that's as immature as anything else you can do on a forum. |

Nothing wrong with you, i am merely referring to the WinAMP & iTunes topics started by yourself several months ago and still being surprised reading that you still have issues monitoring in winAMP and that you just lost the project file of your latest song.
I am not ridiculing you, I've got nothing against you, I even hear potential in your tracks, if i listen beyond the mix itself. So no issues whatsoever, it was just illustrating where things are heading to. and yes i am VERY surprised that you've not been able to put your teeth into this and reconfigure your daw properly. Your a laidback guy with no grudge towards any member i think?
So don't get all worked up using F words and stuff, just out of interest, how old are u? (edit: just seen it on your profile, 20, more or less proves my point)

| Comments regarding other forum members aside, I pretty much agree with Raphie. This forum has become a total hole lately and I don't buy this excuse that it's OK because it's the internet. Music should bring people together IMO and I know that most of you would never talk to a fellow musician in person the way you respond to them on a forum. Respect should go both ways, regardless of the medium. I'm all for a little fun here and there, but when the whole forum becomes a joke, it's time to move on. It's no wonder that you're seeing all the regulars disappear lately. |

| I don't have issues monitoring in Winamp.. based off of that thread I made about two weeks ago, I went ahead and tried making something new, and generally it seems like it was a major improvement over previous attempts, based on what everyone's been saying. What more can be expected from someone here? |
