macro means big, global, great, oversight, not details or something. i guess it means a complete change of scales or rhytm in a song. but im no expert.

7. Sorry you're displeased with the way things are, right now, cryophonik and I've noticed that you haven't been posting, lately. It would be a shame if you decided to leave, but I really don't think it's too late to turn this place around, either.

Thanks EZ, the reason I haven't been posting much lately has more to do with my workload over the past few weeks. But every time I checked in here, I was not inclined to respond. Don't worry, I'm not going away. This place does need better moderation, though. Things should never get this out of hand.

No, EZ has integrity and talent, which are both traits that you clearly lack, based on your stupid thread. Just so you know, you're not the first DJ to do this, but it always ends the same. Any time DJDumbass comes into a music producer's forum and asks them to produce music for him so that he can flail his arms around on stage like the untalented idiot that he is while taking credit for other peoples' talents, you will get a well-deserved kick in the teeth. Either develop some talent, or be content knowing that you're nothing more than a glamorized jesus-posing jukebox. Nobody likes a poseur.

Thats what I thought too when I see ''macro''. I think of the big picture (talking about music). I think were both right. Well see what eddiezilker says.
sonicboom
its probably something completely different as usual with music terms lol. ive never been interested in what things are called as i never discuss anything like it with people in the real life (i dont know a single person with an interest towards music, its really ing sick). and here everyone understands what i mean anyway.
mathieu
yeah me too, the terms dont really interest me. whats in these terms do interest me tho. btw i dont think alot of people here talk music with other people in real life. atleast me. thats why im here
sonicboom
its actually pretty shocking. i know alot of people, and went to school with alot of people etc, but there just been a few singers and hiphoppers around, nothing more. pretty weird. or maybe people do like me, keep my mouth shut about it and take it out on TA instead lol.

You got me curious now, how does timing affect sound quality?
And by macro phrasing do you mean multiple musical phrases in one song wich fit? (I've been obsessed with this lately lol) or is it just another word for arrangement? or am I completely wrong ? because im not quite sure what macro means, I just presumed it was the opposite of micro.

I'll start some threads about these things, tomorrow. It's just little things one can do to either make the sound clearer or utilize the technology to its fullest potential.

Next month marks 10 years I've been on this board and all of those years I've remained active. I visit the TA forums every single day and don't see that behavior ever changing anytime soon. With that said, I have noticed a decline in the Production Studio over the past year especially with some of the garbage going on and I too have felt there is a severe lack of moderator intervention. I think some changes need to be made. Regardless, TA will always be my home and the site I visit the most. I value so much of what I have learned over the last decade.

That isn't what changed around here.

Somewhere along the line trolling and complaints became the dominant theme rather than an amusing side act. Even the people who were capable of giving valuable stuff back stopped doing it as much, and when they did, a lot of it was now in the form of "Hey, here's a neat link to a blog / video / interview!", rather than a self-authored post or tutorial.

agree ^^^

i think this section needs a slight bit more moderation, not too much tho

damn this is like 90210 a lot of you (not all) sound like women.

Name one thread recently other than the "racist" one where I merely exploited someone who ALREADY should have been gone? 90% of my tirades on here are to the same 3 people who all should have been gone a while ago. Because I only start with them, but they start with everyone. Of course we cant implicate one because hes a "genius" or w/e some of you like to think I think hes hooked on his lyrica personally.
Then palm who cant stop drinking, and atx (and smoking), kit for making this thread and insulting 100 members himself a week, its fvckn stupid I agree. I only react, I don't provoke. Read my posts carefully. That black dude who called out Ky and flamed him the way he did was just wrong. We have no police on here, so it gets dirty. But I guarantee I will still be here after police comes in. Because I am just a crimefighter myself. The vets making fun of regular guys who sometimes ask simple questions is stupid. You should all be banned too imo. Get off your highhorses.

This is basically what I'm saying. Its gotten to the point now where 90% of threads are just pointless to even look at. So I don't.

but to get back the topic: the only thing needed is an upgraded sticky, and a little more moderation, atleast some warnings here and there. if the sticky got upgraded we could just answer that to all newbs. the stickys are decent now also, but a bit dated, and maybe slightly overkill in terms of references to other pages.

All very true.

the answers you get here, or any other place online is rarely objective as most people just say what works for them - and people always say that their own methods and gear is the best, simply to protect themselfs, its survival instinct. in order to keep a forum unbiased you would have to have a limited entry for people who have seen/are in nirvana only.

Here I disagree. People on here now don't bother justifying their opinions. They just make a statement, don't back it up, and never really discuss. Its all just about shooting your mouth off, even when discussion could be beneficial. Eventually, they start insulting each other's tracks, or just digging up dirt on each other. There's not debate or discussion, just people saying "you're wrong".

off, raphie, I've never personally insulted you or your music, who the do you think you are to belittle me? What have I ever done to you? Disagree with your view of what a "good" forum is? You're ing 40 years old and trying to put down a 19 year old who's been making music for, what, four years? Way to set an example, you're a big ing man.

You can bitch about immaturity around here all you want but it takes a lot of nerve to do that while you tout off unwarranted personal insults in lieu of having anything worthwhile to say. As far as I'm concerned that's as immature as anything else you can do on a forum.

See this is typical of Raphie. He's one of the ones I was talking about who make a lot of claims without really explaining them properly or engaging in debate. Him (and a few others) think they're far too superior to the rest of us to do so. He also steretypes something chronic; "all warez users are noobs", "its the teenagers causing the problem"... A lot of the people causing problems (not naming names) are actually a lot older and have a lot of analogue gear which is so precious to him. But he thinks that because he's spent so much money on gear he's some sort of production god.

Also, someone should mention to him that I'm far from a saint, I stir lots of , but its just getting boring now since the entire forum is .
