I will not go there, let's try to stay "on topic" here.

What more can be expected from someone here?

the latter. 50% of the front page was covered with "How do I get my crappy song to shine with the use of master compression? i want it to sound like ASOT pls halp!" made by t.nu-refugees. A point was made and it helped almost immediately. Now theres actually quite a bit of nice threads on the first page. This forum is for both young and old, newly registered or veterans. Stupid questions will be threated bad ************, especially when a simple search could fix it. A more active moderation would help, but also a better sticky would help even more.

1. I'm interested to know how many people are sending Diginut PMs before starting threads like this. He's not perfect and only human, but he might be able to do a lot more if we communicate with him, directly.

2. Personally, I've had it with the DJ Wannabe's and the parade (closedcircle, Kid_presentable, DJXposure, and, although I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt - DJRobbyRox) of them, lately, is a huge distraction. The threads they start or pollute always seem to rise to the top.

3. It seems like a lot of the problems these threads pertain to is ego clashing. I have a really hard time giving credibility to someone who comes in here and complains about big egos when it was nothing less than their ego being hurt which led them to mark up someone's Soundcloud. Not that you're entirely wrong, Raphie, but I think there's something to be said for living up to your own opinion of how people should behave. To be fair, that's an example and, in a lot of ways, I think the people who complain most loudly about huge egos, here, are people who's biggest problems are their own egos. A lot of chaos seems to be caused by people who believe they're incapable of causing chaos.

One last thing: No one here is ego-less. It's an essential part of the creative process. Even when you are trying to keep your ego out of the way, keeping it out of the way is still a function of ego.

4. When making claims of ANY nature, be prepared to substantiate it. I actually had a bit of a problem when MSZ tossed the "Don't use Raphie for mastering" hand-grenade in that thread. While I don't think Raphie handled it well, I can see that he's got a legitimate grievance when several respected producers kind of take a crap on him.

5. Learn to argue correctly. It's called creative-conflict. There's no reason to just fly off the handle when someone's posting something you find objectionable. Find a way to articulate your argument cogently and respond and stop feeling like everything always has to absolutely, positively be responded to.

6. If someone is doing something you don't like, PM them or simply post in the thread they're doing it in. That goes for me, too. If you dislike the tone I've taken with DJXposure, let me know. Don't withhold communication and then complain about the forum's toxicity.

7. Sorry you're displeased with the way things are, right now, cryophonik and I've noticed that you haven't been posting, lately. It would be a shame if you decided to leave, but I really don't think it's too late to turn this place around, either.

EDIT: 8. There's a strategic advantage to maintaining the moral high-ground. If you admit when you're wrong, are intellectually honest, and refrain from ad hominem attacks against forum regulars - even when you're feeling attacked - you're a lot better off than when you do engage in that sort of behavior.

question is, what hasen't been discussed a million times that could make a thread here?
sonicboom
anything related to producing music for example? or new exciting gear? some online tutorials? it has been discussed before but stuff like that needs constant update. side chaining does not, it has been the same since the 70s.

If i'm perfectly honest, i don't dissagree with what you write below, let's just say that i'm very dissapointed with some people here and the way they engaged in some of my topics. Though i'm not going to through all of that in detail again, I was just very angry. And for me there are just very few persons left here that have my respect. I am replying here, because i find it important to share my point of view, but i am definately not in a kiss and make up mood.

And to be quite honest, there is just nothing to gain here, not a single topic that's an eye opener, or refreshing.

And i even don't feel the urge to share anymore, either links or own contributions, as 9 out of 10 times stuff is questioned, turning into a bash fest, credibillity attacks without any grounds. etc.

For me, it's just no longer worth it. can't find positive vibes here atm...

But this is not about me, it's about the TA Producers section being nearly abandoned.

just a shame your a dick. a very small one, but still. A DICK.
Raphie just leave and let these cocky arrogant pricks attack anyone new to the forum. Eventually they will be reduced to a select few. keep em in one place i say. Problem solved.

I can vouch for Eddie being quite the opposite of this. He's one of the most intelligent, level-headed people around here. You're the one replying to a very good post with a sophomoric insult for no reason, so I have to wonder who the "dick" here is.

Poor timing and its impact on sound quality

Sampling and macro phrasing

Movies that have inspired your productions

Movies and sound-tracks that have inspired productions

What's the last movie/book/thread/et al which changed the way you look at production?

That's just five things off the top of my head.

Raphie, thanks for your honesty and, for what it's worth, I think it would be a loss, although certainly understandable, if you don't post constructively, anymore.

You got me curious now, how does timing affect sound quality?
And by macro phrasing do you mean multiple musical phrases in one song wich fit? (I've been obsessed with this lately lol) or is it just another word for arrangement? or am I completely wrong ? because im not quite sure what macro means, I just presumed it was the opposite of micro.

Raphie its great for you that your at the level you are right now with regards to producing, maybe we don't all like the style of music you make, or even your points of view on us that are not anywhere near the level your at, but I imagine alot of us have respect for what you can do.. This forum should be a forum for all from the people who don't know , to the people that know alot.
I know people are saying this place has gone down hill (maybe it has) but I aint been on here 1 year yet and I'd like to think I've learnt alot and progressed in that time.. As for the lack of decent posts, why not start them yourself, but keep it open to the less experienced guy's on here aswell? Maybe you could share some of your knowledge, what may seem a little to you, may mean alot to others.
Yes alot has been covered in the past, and some people posting questions should try the seach first, but that shouldn't stop the more advanced members from posting helpfull stuff from time to time without having been asked in the first place.

It is a shame that yourself and others are thinking about walking away from here, but its not just down to the noobs that makes this place "boring", if its to change, everyone has to play their part.
