It's not on Markus' calendar yet, but he's in Vegas the day before...so this looks possible, if not valid.

okay so after looking at it the only addition im excited about is markus. maybe dirty south cuz the set he dropped at the masquerade motel was pretty nice. other than that some dnb and dubstep garbage? ugh. hope they make an effort to add on a bit more than just fillers.
Rissinite
The tech lineup for DEMF thus far is pretty sparse IMO with the exception of Beyer, Hawtin, Dettmann, Klock and a couple others. Would love to see this group go out and bring in some CLR/Drumcode/Viva artists

Would 1,000 naked ladies jumping on trampolines on stage make you happy? Geez.

If it's not one thing it's the other with you.

Ladies and gentleman, what you have to understand is the fact that "the list" is just the beginning. I can tell you from experience (both old and recent) Orlando authorities are the most harassing and obnoxious police force when it comes to dance music events.

Any city that has an anti-rave task force in place, will stop at nothing to ensure people violate no laws. Between the massive undercover cop event team In Orlando, the anti rave task force, and the cities overall history with shutting dance music events down, I'm out on attending this. Not because I violate any laws, but because I don't want to be harassed, herded like cattle, and be told what to wear (or not) what to chew (or not) or what non threatening personal effects (or not) that I can bring into the event.

You won't get a red cent from me that is for sure!

Great festival, WRONG CITY for it. If that list isn't a pre-cursor to things to come with this event, I don't know what is. Too many festivals in the US to put up with a list of rules like that. Imagine what would happen if Insomniac in LA released a list like that for an EDM festival? No one would attend! What happened to the foundations of our scene which propelled my interest in the music in the first place? Be yourself, come as you are?

P.S. And for the record, to the promoter, don't PM me and threaten me to take my post down like you did a friend of mine. I too was a promoter (long retired) know my rights to freedom of speech and want to educate the masses on TA.

1. We are not violating any Rave Law - could you perhaps show me the statute?

2. These rules apply to ALL Insomniac events across the country including LA - and guess what people still have fun at these events!

3. Orlando has a history of shutting down illegally operating dance music events (just as many cities do). However our events are legitimate. Our venues are licensed, insured, and operated appropriately. In my 15+ years of event history in Orlando I have yet to be shut down.

4. It is your right to not want to go.. sorry you will miss all the fun.

Sure, I'd be happy to.

On April 10, 2003, the PROTECT Act passed in both the House (400 – 25) and the Senate (98 – 0). The RAVE Act was attached to this bill at the last moment, so it passed also. On April 30, the president signed it into law.

The “RAVE Act” expands the scope of the “crack house statute.” This makes it easier to prosecute owners and managers of businesses and/or real estate if persons on their property commit a drug-related offense. Persons convicted under this new law could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison, fined $500,000 and have their business or property confiscated. This legislation also adds a civil liability clause to the “crack house statute.” The DEA has a web page that explains how they intend to enforce this law which is here DEA WEBLINK

I'll take the liberty to copy and paste the text for you though....

New Drug Law Protects Children
Unscrupulous Event Promoters Targeted

JUN 20--The Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act, enacted on April 30, 2003, is welcome news in the fight against Ecstasy, Predatory Drugs, and Methamphetamine. The Act protects kids from drugs in three distinct ways:

1. It authorizes funds to educate parents and kids on the dangers of Ecstasy and other predatory drugs;

2. It directs the United States Sentencing Commission to consider increasing federal sentencing penalties for offenses involving GHB, a predatory drug used to facilitate sexual assaults; and

3. It makes clear that anyone who knowingly opens, leases, rents, or maintains, whether permanently or temporarily, any place for the purpose of using, distributing or manufacturing any controlled substance, can be held accountable. The new law also makes it unlawful for a manager, employee or owner, to profit from, or make available for use, any place for the purpose of storing, distributing, manufacturing, or using a controlled substance.

Parents and teens often believe that events such as raves are safe and drug/alcohol-free. In reality, promoters often turn these events into havens of drug trafficking and use for their own illicit profit. This law is a helpful tool for law enforcement in addressing this problem.

The DEA is committed to responsible enforcement of this law, which will shield innocent businesses from criminal liability for incidental drug use by patrons while eliminating unlawful enterprises that lure young people into dangerous drug use. Although the changes were necessary to close loopholes in existing law, the prosecution proof thresholds for "knowledge" and "intent" remain the same.

All DEA offices have been provided with updated guidance regarding the implementation of this new statute. This guidance also establishes procedures within DEA to obtain Headquarters review of proposed enforcement activity under the Act. This will ensure that all DEA activity under the Act complies with its terms and intent and with the First Amendment.

Now, this is a national statue. The difference between Orlando and other areas of the country is the fact that Orlando thinks enough of this law to employ a task force trained to identify and shut down raves. You can sugar coat your event and call it a "licensed festival" but at the end of the day, in the eyes of the police, it's a rave and will be treated as such. How many uniformed police did Orlando require Insomniac to employ? 50? 75 maybe?

Orlando = not the place for a dance music festival. Let's not forget Zen, I was there.

What does this have to do with Orlando - this is the Federal crackhouse law that was modified a little.

I'd like to see the Orlando Anti-Rave Law you speak of.

First off, attention to detail must not be a strong point for you. Never said there was an anti rave law in place in Orlando. What I did say was that there is a dedicated police force that is trained to identify and assist in shutting down of said events (the Orlando Anti Rave task force)

FYI I used to live in Melbourne FL and have attended events from the AAHZ days, Marz in Cocoa Beach, Zen and forward to events recently. I've watched the city change, and yes there have been bills passed in Orlando specific to raves. One of which was the Orlando Anti Rave Bill of 1997 which prohibits an event from going past 2am, after alcohol cut off time ends. Now that bill doesn't apply to you since your event ends long before then, but it shows how the city is not a proponent of these type of events any more.

At the end of the day, let the patrons decide. I can tell you that my crew is staying clear of Orlando for an event of this type. Too many choices and options these days within a $250 flight range for us to roll the dice on a city that has rolled "snake eyes" to many times in the past.
