It is true Orlando - as most of the USA has anti-rave laws in place. However we are not throwing a rave - we are throwing a music festival with some of the most popular music being played today. EDC Orlando will start at 2pm and end at Midnight.

Like it or not, the word "rave" to the majority of politicians means non sanctioned underground late night parties where people take illicit substances. We do not condone or tolerate such behavior and do not like people calling EDC a "rave" because there is electronic music being played.

I understand your position, and especially as a promoter, you want to keep the image of EDC in good standing.

But come on man. A massive festival with electronic dance music is, was, and always will be a rave. You can cover your ears and sing "La la la," but the fact of the mattter is there will be thousands of kandi kids rolling balls giving each other lightshows while inhaling Vicks. It is a rave.

And if it wasn't for such clientele, I would think there wouldn't be an EDC Orlando. There simply isn't enough people near Orlando that love this kind of music that much to go to a festival and make it a rousing success. So I would say that EDC DOES condone and tolerate such behavior. Those patrons are spending a lot of money like everybody else.

You are sadly mistaken. Have you been to a club in Orlando in the last 5 years? There are practically no clubs left that play hip hop. Dance music - house, trance, dub, electro has taken the city by storm. From the most popular trendy nights to the kids that don't shower for weeks. Dance music is king.

Kandy kids rolling balls was a product of the 90's....

LOL, I live downtown and go out twice a week. Kandi kids rolling balls doesn't happen downtown because all those places are 21+ for the most part. And the ones that aren't play hip-hop. Sky60, Vintage, Suite B all cater to an older crowd, I'll give it that. They're great places to mingle and to see show (when one comes around).

But I have been to numerous "massive" EDM shows (the kind that EDC will be) the last couple of years. Wolfgang Gartner at House of Blues in February, for instance. Nothing but kandi kids rolling balls. I felt weird and out of place as a 26 year old. I went to Tiesto at UCF in Novemeber...same thing.

So, unless EDC is 18+ or 21+, it will be kandi kids rolling balls. If you don't believe so, you are naive. And you will find out firsthand next month for EDC. I personally don't care, because at DEMF I expect to see the same. Just don't act surprised when it happens.

1. Wolfgang not my party.. all ages..

2. Tiesto my party.. 18+ up and my liquor sales would differ to it was full of "kandy kids rolling balls"

3. EDC will be 18 and up and will not be full of "kandy kids rolling ballz"

Tiesto was 18+? LOL, could've fooled me, since NONE OF THE DOOR PEOPLE LOOKED AT IDS! LOL!

One of my friends brought her 16 year old cousin without a problem!

And even if most of the people were 18+...you really think that 18 year olds can't be kandi kids rolling balls? Cuz UCF Arena was chock full of them that night!

Either way, I don't want to get into a fight with you. I'm just pointing out that EDC and all other EDM festivals in the world are raves. Whether or not it's 18+, it doesn't matter. 18 year olds are kandi kids too. I'm cool with that fact. For the most part, they're nice enough and just want to have a good time.

But for you to come on tranceaddict and try to inform us that it's not a rave and that kandi kids don't exist...well it's insulting to my intelligence. I'm not naive and I have seen things in my own experiences (recent one) that suggest to me that the era of kandi kids is not over. In fact it's on the rebound.
