Why more trance in NYC all of a sudden?

It was just a few months ago that I was complaining about not enough trance in NY. The winter was rather quiet, and now there's more events each weekend with world-class DJ's that I can physically go to.

Just these next two months - Avicii, Jaytech, A&B, Axwell, Armin, Digweed, Filo & Peri, Guiseppe Ottaviani, Gareth, Dirty South, Afrojack, Mat Zo, Sean Tyas (june)

Not to mention we just recently had Ferry, Dash, Marcus, Tritonal, Kaskade... obviously not all trance or artists I'd care to see, but still...

Is it just typical for NYC to light up after Ultra and through the summer? I just moved here in the fall, so curious :)

TO answer your question, late December- early April is always the slowest times because DJ's go on holiday, then hit the studio in prep for WMC, then they start touring. Same , different year.

Well.... thanks for the warm welcome!

I was just trying to point out popular EDM names, regardless of genre. I'm well aware of and believe I mentioned not all were trance.

I recently moved here and haven't been a part of EDM culture in the US or nyc for that long - so I think my question was valid.

This happens often. Many European DJ's tend to come out to US before Ibiza/summer festival season.
