I honestly think there should be a national public service campaign about the difference between the words "Loose" and "Lose".
This is seriously an epidemic with anyone under 25. How the hell did our school system fail this miserably? |

Welcome to the 21st century.
There can be many reasons why schools have failed. Lack of funds or teachers that don't give a rats ass anymore. Have you see the kids today, that are in high school or elementary school. All they care about is MTV, weed and sex.
your, you're (you are)
its, it's (it is)
our, are
to, too
then, than
were, we're (we are)
I'm not sure what other ones make the list though?
Don't get me wrong, I have a problem with the english language. I have an easier time writing in french. In school I constantly wrote run on sentences and to this day I still do. Plus I write my sentences in such a weird manor. |

| I'm shocked at the number of younger people who do not know you have to put two spaces after a period. |

| I'm doing research on school literacy in NY state right now. You think it is bad here, look to the states. I know we shouldn't comparing ourselves but really, a major struggle for them is the placement of either which or that in a continuation of a sentence. Another problem is the proper placement and pronounciation of a comma within a sentence. Anyhoo, I'm off to the States for school. Gunna get tha edjamacashon. |

| blame text messaging for all the shorthanded bastardization of the english language. Blame stupidity for not knowing the difference for being 2 identically sounding words being used interchangeably with incompatible meanings. |

| Spell check has definitely had a hand in it too. You can rely on it heavily and it will protect you 95% of the time, it's just that 5% time you come off looking like a huge idiot... |

I short hand most of my sms, but when it comes to writing papers or what not, I would write properly. Plus when it comes to posting on forums, for me it all depends where you're posting. For me I don't really care what I write on here, seeing it is a music forum :p |

Your thread is based on a screen capture from a Mike Judge movie. The character in question in the movie is in his 50s. |
