IMO a good boat cruise is the creme de la creme for an event photographer. so much fun.

Thanks :) ... I had a blast shooting this and most the people I saw were also having a great time... Not too many were in bad mood dancing on the water in turn-around weather on a holiday... Good times

Nice pics!

(see, it's not that hard to post... lol)

Can we stop talking about the merits of taking pictures in a club, and get back to how awesome this cruise was?

:crazy:

i personally apologize for my part in highjacking the thread in relation to club photos....

my original point (after scouring the web for photos) was that nobody shot the cruise....now that we know nadia did, and well

I digress......

I used to not get CZ's no camera policy but have grown to fully appreciate it. Not having documented footage from a particular morning adds to the rawness of it all and gives the place a more underground feel. The "you had to have been there' line rings more true when there's literally only stories from friends and nothing to hear or look at. I think if people were never able to download live sets from CZ then it'd be more raw and mysterious. There's also stuff that goes on at zone that shouldn't be captured and watched by others... comparing 930AM @ zone to 330AM @ the gallery or fw is just silly.

Having said all that, I shot the video of Lawler because I couldn't help myself. Favourite dj + favourite club = necessary memento. The fact that I'm borderline obsessive compulsive person helps too, especially when it comes to shooting almost every event I go to. Sometimes I've even gone to considerable lengths to get the camera in like @ bal en blanc or stereo. I wouldn't put those two on the same level as CZ due to a completely different atmosphere. Berghain in Berlin on the other hand...

oh wow, I'd LOVE to see this around here
for the Lawler cruise, my friend and I decided to leave our phones in the car and had a much better time on the cruise as a result.

@kotsy,

all i meant about the time comparison in the different venues, is that i've caught people doing the things i cant post at those venues (not on purpose, but in the background etc....) and they're all the same....people are gunna do drugs in the open in a dark club....whether someone catches it with a camera or video is irrelevant if you know better than to post it...

thats all.

obv, zone is a little more off the wall....but the pics would be no different than the other two places i mentioned.

I know that feeling all to well, especially when your somewhere at the right place and the right time. This was the case for Yoji even though I was "asked" to stop recording prior to getting another great clip.
