Ontario on track to loosen liquor laws by summer: Attorney General

They are making some changes to the liquor laws, we'll be able to walk around at festivals with drinks and also drink on the boat cruises later (if it gets stalled leaving)

Please explain the boat thing Cam...
I always thought it was the boats policy to cut off alcohol so ppl wouldn't have drinks when it docked and they'd get off faster... |

Right now it's law that the boat can only serve for 30 minutes before departure. So if the boat gets delayed (like that ever happens!) then the drinks have to stop and they will take them away. Can't start again till the boat leaves, so if the delay was due to bad weather or something you could be stuck on a boat for awhile with no drinks.
This isn't the boat policy, it's the harbor rules. |

I say increase the time of last call to 4am. It's been stuck at 2am since 1996 and stuck at 1am for decades before that. |

i like that idea but dont think it would be a very good decision for torontonians. look at what happens to people during TIFF (and any other festivals) when many venues are licensed until 3am. EVERYONE is tanked, including the designated driver! |
