lol true...no DJ i've seen there has been as good as other venues ive seen them at. Not even 1.... |
Nooo. Granted I missed Sasha in November, but if it was anything like that Tree of Life MoS set in Decemeber, then maybe it was a good thing, but there were plenty of good reviews so I dunno.
I've actually experienced more amazing sets at TiL over other venues. Hernan C. was sick in 2009, Max Graham in like 2006/2007 was great (played a friend's request too). Steve Lawler killed it in 2009, Jimmy Van M w/Audiofly was really good too but that a while back. I find TiL brings out the best in DJs |

my fav party @ TiL was the big opening night w/ Deep Dish, holy mother that was insane

| does anyone know why Jimmy Van M doesn't really play that often? I saw his tour schedule but he only plays like 2-3 times in a month. |

That was when TIL started bringing in DJs almost every Friday. That night was rammed packed and they just finished doing all the carpentry work @ 9pm lol. Sawdust still on the floor... totally last minute.
There have been many Djs that have ripped it up @ TIL. It was more of a winter club to go to, to see DJs than a summer venue. |

there were similar aspects from his TIL set in comparing it to the MOS set. I thought both were phenomenal, as did many who attended. He was certainly playing his Sasha A-game that night...
What ARE some of your favourite Sasha sets? |

Sasha and Zabiela back to back main room
Sasha and Lawler back to back main room / Skybar |

| Nothing wrong with TIL in my books as a venue. Good dance floor, good sound, not too big or small, solid booth etc... The crowd is absolutely brutal though, worst of any decent DJ booking venue in Toronto imo. My most enjoyable moments there are always 3-5 when the bottle rats and boozers have cleared out and made room for actual fans of music. |

its the crowd....not the club thats the issue. The club is a cool space with some interesting design aspects that I like. I also like the location of the DJ booth but the crowd just kills every experience i have there.
The two best times i've had are when we have gotten bottle service in the corner to the right of the DJ Booth. Out of the crowd...you're own space (for most of the night)...thats when i really have fun at This is London. |
