I haven't done a long review so I think I'll use last night as an excuse to break my streak.

Got to guv around 11:30 with a few friends to hear MO playing some fairly decent summerish house. Def got the crowd who was there into a bit of a groove. Since the weather was so nice, we decided to hang out on the smoking patio to enjoy some air and chat while we didn't have to yell. I could swear that within 25 minutes, it was almost impossible to move out there. Never seen it pack up so quickly and what is even weirder was inside was not filling up at the same rate.

Ran into hardcore trancer and proceeded to try and find a spot that convinienced both space to dance/good quality sound. Not only did we find it but we actually entered one of the bottle service booths infront of the back left speaker without any questioning (massive win!). Perfect timing as well since it was around the time that Digweed had entered the booth to prepare his set.

I think Digweed is along with Nick Warren the DJ I've listened to the most over my 11 years of being involved with EDM and never seen before so last night was me popping my Digweed cherry. From track 1 (which has to be IDed, this thread will not end until it is IDed!!!) with the lightning, thunder and the works, everyone's mind in the room began to get warped out of proportion.

Probably around track 3, I called over Ben (Tordan) to come by to the booth. At this point, I was starting to begin to think to myself, wait a second, what track is this? Is this track 3 or 7? I don't think I've ever heard a DJ program a set in the way that John Digweed did last night. I can't begin to explain how many times I had to ask someone around me "Ok, you realize it's been about 2 mins+ and he is still in this transition with 3 other samples going on along with it?". Today, 20 minutes to 3pm, about 11 hours after I left the club, I'm still trying to find the words to explain how brilliant this guy is on the mixer. I'm going to get critisized for this but I've seen Sasha twice in two seperate venues and although he is also a very good technical DJ, I'm sorry but he is not in the same league as Digweed. This guy seems to be in a league of his own in this department (everyone can throw in their 2 cents on track selection but for me the technical part is a closed deal).

Not only was this a very mind warping experience but what added to it was the amazing lighting job that was done. No crazy lasers, not an overdose of train sounds. On top was the way John balanced out that system. From the first track, the sound in the room was as good as I've ever heard it. Walking around, there were no bad spots that lacked anything (this is saying alot for guv) from the tracks dynamics. But what really was the cherry on the sundae had to be the spot we were in. Not only did we have an amazing view of all the chaos, our feet were vibrating from the slightly elevated stage to give the whole experience (hell, seeing this crammed between 2 sumo wrestlers would have been an experience) an IMAX sort of feeling. I have zero complaints!

I think I may do a part two to go a bit more in depth into the night. I just need to find the proper way to explain it. Good seeing everyone though (Tordan, Shaya, Cribby and whoever else I missed).

Digweed is such a professional when it comes to DJing. More young DJs should take a lesson from Digweed on what it means to be a professional DJ.

Wow...just wow...
Don't know what else Ican say about the music, the vibes, the way that Digweed went through his set, that hasn't been said already.
This man is the epitome of a DJ who knows exactly what he's doing from the very start of the set.
On a really cool aside, I met my first ever real life TOTA (the potter). It's great to put a face to a name, and even better when it's a really chill dude.

What a great night,I agree with everyone's reviews of Digweeds set, it was absolutely amazing. My shins are killing me today from the dancing and jumping around. M & S really did a good job to after digweed finished, really dug how they kicked the party up a further notch.

So sick when he dropped this! Digweed is the best and he proves it every time he takes the decks! More dj's should aspire to be like him!

There was a call to come to the temple, and listen to the music of the blessed John Digweed, and the masses came. So the heavenly tunes were played long and hard, and there was much dancing and rejoicing. And all who came went home were satisfied, and much joy in their hearts after witnessing another incredible performance by blessed John Digweed.

So glad that my body woke itself up at midnight from a nap. Or else I'd be so upset for missing out. Got in around 1230 to hear Mark O slamming it down and pumping up the crowd.

Then Diggers went on. He played like he had some unfinished business after his Mtl gig.
First hour after first couple of amazing opening tunes was ok. Then he dropped a really sick tune right on 2am mark and the crowd went bananas. Hour 2 of his set was... incredible. Just perfect balance of prog and tech. Took the crowd through a ride. Hour 3 was slightly not as good as hour 2 but still awesome. Diggers played till 430 and last half hour was just ok, so glad that he stopped when he did. Loved the last prog trance ish tune he played and a good closer to what amounts to one of best sets I've witnessed at the guv.
You know it's a good set when Yohan is actually dancing for about half the set :p

Always a pleasure to watch a master at work.

PS: My party hat > all your headwears ;)
