you want the music to be more popular and win awards but you dont want anyone else hearing it but you.
every genre has their radio feel good cheese to promote their culture and type of music to the general public. In hip hop their is tooooooooooooons of pop cheese, even some of my favorite artists create a pop cheese song that I can't stand to promote their album, but I don't mind, I'm one of those people that are willing to dig deep into the genre to find the things I like.
I think every genre needs its radio cheese if you want the genre to grow, create awareness and make money. Because if it weren't for the Jay-z's and Eminem's there probably wouldnt be enough money for the consequence's and shad's of the game. |

There's a difference here, though. All the "mainstream" hip hop and R&B songs have the Guetta/Angello/Ingrosso-infused style to their beats. Most hip hop tracks on the radio nowadays could have a dub mix that will top the party house charts. |

The way I see it is to each their own. If people like country, punk, hip hop, house, or cheese house, how does it affect you? Not at all is the answer so let these guys cheese it up. In many ways they (Guetta, mau5, SHM) and their fans are essential to prolonging what you enjoy no matter what kind of EDM you like. As fans get older and out of the industry you need new ones coming in and without gateway cheese from these guys that cycle won't happen.
As for the article it's either a hoax, written with quotes from a long time ago or axwell said that when he was high/drunk off his ass. There's not really much debate about that. |
