Old batman was more comical than serious.

Nolan is smart to avoid the cheesier look of the older batmans.

I feel the same way but in reverse. The part of the mask that opens up around Bale's mouth looks silly to me and his voice is absolutely hysterical (although that is not an aesthetic issue), among some other things. The only "issue" I would have to agree with others about in regards to when Keaton was in costume was the fact that he couldn't turn his neck but it doesn't really bother me at all and really never did until others actually pointed it out. After Batman Returns, I think the Batman costumes and movies in general were definitely cheesy.

The last two Nolan movies have been entertaining enough for me to like them, though, not to mention his interpretation of the villains are really good. I'm looking forward to Bane. Knightfall was a very good story and I'm curious to see how much, if anything, he uses from that story line for this movie.

The voice Bale added on makes sense in terms of what Bruce would do. 1. It better enables him to hide his identity and 2. It can intimidate lesser thugs of Gotham and 3. It works into the persona of batman versus bruce wayne.

The thing that bugs me is the bat mobile and the batpod making ridiculous sounds that it couldn't possible make.

It is funny to think batman can't turn his head.

Functionally, a change in voice is necessary of course. It's just that the one they went with sounds silly.

I liked the Bat-voice in Begins. TDK enhanced it a little too much. It will most likely be more toned down in TDKR.

This film is actually a bit of a disappointment. Some of the trademark, love/hate aspects of Nolan's storytelling (twists & turns) are not handled well.

It's literally about what would happen if Occupy Wall Street was led by Bane, but these bluntly spelled out socioeconomic tensions cease to be important at the end.

Hardy is great as Bane, Hathaway is great as Catwoman, it just doesn't work together that much.

SHUT THE UP!

SHUT THE UP!

I'm sure you're fully justified, I just don't want to hear it :p

First half is still pure Nolan goodness.

It's just that now it's even more obvious how TDK is brilliant and how Joker was so important. Begins and Rises with all their characters seem so lame when compared to that, even though they should still be considered great movies.
