Exactly. Nolan couldn't get enough of catwoman on the batpod. |

Despite the insane number of plot holes, it was still a GOOD Superhero movie. Comparing it to the next best superhero franchise: X-MEN, this definitely held up to be a stellar trilogy. And of course it doesn't hold a candle to Dark Knight.
Nolan basically ejaculated all his prowess on Dark Night the way Smashing Pumpkins did on Mellon Collie.... so here's the aftermath.
And when it comes to Nolan's best work - this was pure FAIL.
But still.. Directors like Nolan's worst work is still at least as good as something better than the super frivolous Spider Man.
Sucks. But at least its something. |

| Well, I left the theater feeling overall satisfied with the movie, but it didn't quite meet my expectations, which I will admit, were fairly high after TDK. But with that said, I do feel that it was a good superhero flick, one that teaches a lesson about age and the choice to move on with one's life, or simply sit around and wait for something else to happen. I've always enjoyed Michael Caine and Christian Bale's interactions throughout this trilogy and the limited number of scenes they had together were heart-felt as usual. Hatheway is sexy as Hell as Catwoman and her attitude and demeanor went perfect alongside of Batman. But balancing these two heroes out with the choice of villains in this movie...I don't feel like it worked. I'm okay with the choice of Bane, but I think there needed to be someone else to rival Catwoman, and Talia definitely wasn't it. I think if they had gone the route to use a Harley Quinn in this movie (Introduced as a Joker copycat etc), the balance would have been right, and the audience would have gotten another taste of the "agent of chaos" villainy that made TDK so successful. However, I do give Nolan credit for using The League of Shadows again to tie the entire trilogy together for continuity, something a lot of these superhero trilogy's lack. With the lies that Gordon and Batman pulled to sustain hope in Gotham coming unraveled, I felt like more drama could have happened with that. There didn't really seem to be much of a shock with the populace when they found out about it. They could have used that to create more tension and possible division between the protagonists and the police force, or something. And the last fight between Bane and Batman really wasn't as spectacular as I thought it would be. I mean, pieces of his mask breaks off and now suddenly he's so winded and weakened? Come on. There are other things about this movie that I could nitpick about, but I think I'm going to leave it at that. Again, I feel like this is a satisfactory ending to a phenomenal reboot that Nolan has created. I definitely applaud him for getting Two-face right in TDK compared to Batman Forever in 95. But there is definitely room for improvement with this, like fitting all your different story elements in better. |

I have a big post to write about this film, but I'm so ing tired it'll have to wait until tomorrow.
Oh, and it will contain spoilers and I'm not going to blank them out. If you don't want the plot spoiling, don't read a ing discussion about the film before you've seen it. |

Why couldn't there have been some sort of love triangle? That would have been more interesting...Morally, batman and catwoman are two different people...

I kind of liked how the movie sort of went in the direction of Catwoman being a love interest for Batman, and Miranda Tate as one for Bruce Wayne. The love interest aspects of the film didn't get too much attention, though, and probably for the better. |

Didn't even bother watching it so far. The whole superhero genre is simply not for me. Just leave me alone with all that costumes and superpowers and . I hear this one works quite well as an action movie. Well, then please take away the superhero crap and make it and action movie.
Of course action movies are often cartoon-ish an over the top. And it might even seem hypocritical that I do like some samurai movies, which can be seen as just another superhero genre.
But let me ask those who have seen the movie this: does it have to be Batman? Wouldn't the same movie work as an action movie with just a regular Die-Hard-style bad-ass hero? No costumes or batmobiles or devices. Does Batman really add to the movie? Is he even a character or just an iconic placeholder for a character? |

Holy chocolate titty Jesus, go away with that .
Does Die Hard have to have Die Hard in it? What if Die Hard and Batman had a fight, and Die Hard punched him so hard DIE HARD HAD TO BATMAN. ?!?! !! ? |
