| I'll repeat the same thing I keep saying over and over: The city and the people are not the ones to blame for a club night failure. The club and promoters are, period. Hard to swallow but it is what it is! |

The guys are on fire, gonna be a great day at Beach Club for sure !!! :) |
they destroyed Beach Club, indeed, they and all the other djs too. Dirty afterhours house music on the Beach, I did not expect that. :eyespop:
Anyways, carry on :p |

people are way too tied up in the same old sounds, and do not care or look for something new, cube guys, house djs, trance djs, they rarely come out with anything new innovative or interesting...
Just recycle that like Waste Management and make the easy cash of the hordes of noobs))
man id rather funnel more money into the wife trading business. |

| there simply are too many parties on any given night for them all to be successful. Now it's summer time, even harder to fill a venue. |

Circus is packed. We work hard that's all.
and we present probably the best line ups on this planet.
diversified and fresh in every style + sometimes you get to see legends like Digweed or Marco V... so yeah we reach more people.
you missed angy kore zeksg because you don't know him and we had 800 peeps in that only room.
our customers know their music sometimes better than me. especially in trance. you hate it, you're allowed to... but don't say something is crap if you don't know what you're talking about. |

As for Francis' comment, I don't think it was meant maliciously, but given the tension that exists between the two establishments, he should have known better. |
to be honest i really don't give a f@#$. I hate giving them importance on here coz i really don't in real life. This is the mistake I made. Mentionning them. They don't deserve the attention.
my comment was a joke to spin, nothing more. If they feel offended it's their problem... i still sleep well. |

i'll start by saying: disclaimer...i am referring mainly to afterhours parties, not 10pm-3am parties.
...
so no witty, i wish i was kidding. i've been to toronto many times & i know alot about new york's scene and how it works; miami's as well as chicago's. there's 4 different north american cities. sad to say, but these days, those cities kill us in terms of professionalism, organization, budget, crowd, venues, etc...
|
MTL kills Toronto on afterhours. We have double the population and only one dedicated afterhours club (Comfort Zone). They used to do a lot better for bookings but most often now you'll only see reputable internationals on long weekends and although the locals are great it lacks variety. And the dark underground grime vibe is cool for what it is but if you ever want to party with friends not into that or just mix it up you don't really have any other options.
For big club (guv), 10pm starts/underground (footwork), boat cruises, and some one off parties Toronto might be better. But when it comes to afterhours or outdoor festival type deals you really can't even compare Toronto to Montreal. I kind of agree with Witty you need to appreciate what you have regardless of strengths/weaknesses and just do what you can to make it better. It can always be worse, just look at Vancouver. |

and seeing 50 people on that dancefloor for class talent.
something has gone very wrong in the last year or so. case in point: dj three had maybe 50 people there to hear him.
the fans will give up on mtl's scene altogether. |
there was 1200 peeps at circus that night.
i found 50 new customers last weekend... problem solved.
stop talking like you were the center of the universe, maybe you would be able to make friends that would attend. Now your just being pessimist and people go out to have fun.
you could of make a positive review on dj three and next time around would of had more people. You need to build stuff to make a good night.
you can bash me all you want, won't change your situation. certainly won't change mine. i do this for fun not to get in discussions like these.
so you won't hear me mention stereo again trust me. that's all i have to say. |
