BlkMarket with Ellen Allien, Kiki, Sascha Funke, Nicolas Jaar and others is on 9/5 from 10-10/11am.

9/11 - There's a Sleepy & Boo party with a special guest that hasn't been announced. I heard who it is, think you'll like, but I can't say who it is because it's not my place to announce (which means don't ask by PM).

9/17-18 - Drumcode Friday & Hot Natured on Saturday.

Are you guys visiting the whole time and can go out on weeknights? There's been a decent amount of stuff announced a week/days before on Wednesdays and Thursdays lately.

Avoid Pacha, unless there's some really amazing DJ, which I don't think there are. Make sure you hit Cielo. Francois K has a weekly residency on Mondays.

Hope you brought lots of money....3+ weeks in NYC gets expensive. Rivington will have drink specials, but if you're not drinking the "cheap" $6 beers (they had $10 Amstels one time I went without drink specials) and $8 Red Bull & well vodkas, it's super expensive (i.e. $15 top shelf drinks). Cielo isn't cheap, either.

for staying that long 5 - 30

travel advice: buy a monthy metrocard for all subway and bus usage
any time(89$/person)

Eating: Cheap 99 cent pizza shops and hotdogs on the street or expensive up to $100+ meals(see a zagats guide for those)

Nightlife: Big name clubs like Pacha, this new disrict 36 ??, smaller Cielo,etc..and sections of the city with lots of bars(Astoria, upper east side, etc. )

Sites: Empire state bldg,CentralPark, Statue Liberty, Fresh Kills landfill <--ok this last one might not be the best site to visit

Fun: Great Adventure(If you love roller coasters), Rye playland(fun), adeventureland(younger)

casinos: AC, mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, Turning stone <--need a car/bus for each(min. 2hr trip for each)

thanks for the advice guys, it really help us out, as far as parties and clubing im definetly going to the hot natured one and i'll try going to cielo, my friends aren't that much into edm, im also looking for tickets to cake in central park, vampire weekend in radio city.
one of my friends is really interested in going to a yankees game, how difficult or expensive is to get tickets, i saw some on ticketmaster for 30 dlls but i cant get the webpage to let me get them.
what places should i go in the other boroughs?
we're planning on renting a car for a weekend but we havent decided where to yet, boston, DC, philly, vermont?
thanks!!!

best advice for yankee games are get a tickets to section 420 A B or C, 421 or 419 .... after stub hub fees prob pay around 30 bucks or less a ticket. If you look morning of the day you want to go tickets could be even cheaper (15 buck)... Seats are right behind home plate upper deck, prob the best view in the house .... and plus you could always go down and walk arund.

Boston is a nightmare to drive around if you're a tourist.

I haven't been to Philly. DC is fun if you're into museums and governmental stuff, but there isn't much to do there outside of that.

Vermont is great if you want to go hiking or do outdoors stuff.

So, I've visited New York 3 three times earlier and now I'm planing another visit this winter, somewhere around october/november. The thing is, I've already done all those touristy thing like visiting Ground Zero, Central Park, Empire State Building, Times Square and so on, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out with some new stuff to do and other places to visit that aren't so typicall for tourists.

Thanx in advance for all the help.

Shuni, Boston is a f*cking DISASTER to drive in, the traffic is retarded. Boston is a beautiful town to visit though (sorry Bostonians, can't see it as a city), fairly good amount of culture and good food. Boston is not that great a town to go out in though, everything closes @ 2 am. For some more Boston info, go to http://www.bostonusa.com/visit/bostoninsider. If you do get to rent a car, you can take a drive to Newport, Rhode Island, it's 2 hours away from Boston, beautiful old beach town. Plus after this weekend it's off-season and you might be able to find a good deal on a place to stay. For some info about Newport, check http://www.gonewport.com/

About DC: if you've never been, you'll like it as a tourist. There's lots of museums and attractions (all the Smithsonian Museums, the Holocaust museum and the monuments are free, the Spy Museum, the Aquarium and the National Zoo all charge admission- the Zoo is a must) There's a fairly good amount of events there as well, though not nearly as much as in NY. If you're down in DC during the week and want to go out, check out Lima on Thursday http://www.dcclubbing.com/thursdays-at-lima/ or U Street Music Hall http://www.facebook.com/uhalldc?ref=search&v=wall. Saturdays in DC there is Glow @ Fur. For upcoming events, go to http://www.clubglow.com/glow-calendar/ and/or www.groovanauts.com. Make sure you buy a daily/weekly pass for the Metro in DC as well.

In NY for techno, do make sure to look up reSOLUTE and Blk|Market Membership on Facebook, they have some of the best parties in the city and a break from the typical clubs. There are lots of small, hidden parties all over the city during the week as well, if you're lucky, you might be able to catch Adultnapper or Alexi Delano playing in a basement for 100 ppl. For a more techno oriented Party Planner, go to www.rhythmism.com. If you're looking for some indie rock, check www.ohmyrockness.com. More info on music events can be found on the venues' websites, like Terminal 5, SOB's (for spanish rock), or even Madison Square Garden, they have a smaller theater where the concerts are cheaper, a bit more intimate than the main arena, I've seen great bands there without shelling out lots of money.

Hope this helps :)

Did you get to check out all the museums? MoMA is free on Friday after 6 pm and it has a Matisse exhibit going on until October. The Brooklyn Museum has great exhibits consistently, I think they are closing the Andy Wharhol exhibit on Sept 12th, and I'm sure something just as awesome will replace it. There's also PS1 (the Contemporary Art museum) in Queens, they are showing there a collection of NYC artists.
