who am i? i dont know, just a person who tries to not insult people indirectly by calling them names off hand.
my issue with things like this is the fact that people cant accept the fact that words CAN offend people, and cant grow up to the point where they can respectfully phase certain words out of their vocabulary. |

NEways... people just need to be above it all and not let ignorant comments get to them so easily. It is ridiculous to get all worked up and bent out of shape just because someone calls you a name, especially if it is a stranger or someone you barely know. I was at work the other day and someone called me a white-ass cracker mother ******. What did that accomplish on his part nothing, because I didn't let it get to me. I do agree that people use the term "gay" pretty excessivly though, but I don't think we should all get on there case about it, just don't look past it or point out a word that would better fits the situation.
And here what is what I think about dumb arguments like this...
OK I am done, it is late and I have a feeling that my lack of sleep has just caused me to spew a bunch of non-coherent thoughts. Good night all. |

i wouldn't walk up to someone and be like "yo n get me this"...thats disrespectful, and it crosses the line, because its DIRECTED at one individual.....BUT if i say "that tune is gay", that isn't directed at anyone? so why should ANYONE take offense to it?

i'm not calling anyone gay, i'm just saying the track is gay...gay is an adjective....and it being 2002 and all, i'd figure most people would lighten the hell up. we've all been exposed to it, and why can't SOMEONE just simply ignore it? or is that too hard of a concept to grasp? i mean, i've mastered it, whats to stop someone else?

i think its only an america thing. i personally dont say omg eminem is gay or something, but lots of my friends do, and to me thats just messed up...that point has already been made, thats not why i posted
@sothis: i happen to be chinese, and usually i dont get fussy about racial slurs, but why would u censor out the african slur and leave the chinese/asian slur there? wouldnt someone as intelligent as you are think that we have feelings too? the point of this post is not to flame you, but to tell everyone that racial slurs are bad all around. remember, i usually dont get bitchy about asian pride and stuff, but that was serious enough to catch my eye
