Don't publicly tell people how much you pay for a DJ. Ever. |

that's his beach house...
his wife is pretty well known as a interior designer i guess as well...
and their loft might have been under a million to buy if they got it a while ago as Dumbo isn't nearly as pricey as being in Manhattan itself. |

Dude is rolling. That location with that view is easy over a million.
Awesome pad |

| As has been said, most DJs that make big money are more than just DJs. They run labels, and they have their own brand. There's a lot more at play than just "I'm gonna pay you this much money to play music for two hours". |

| That view alone is worth a million, incredible house. These guys do what they love and still make a killing. |

how does it work over at avalon...they have morgan page, sultan & ned sheppard and andy caldwell this saturday, all of which regularly play a venue like sutra, then next week youve got paul oakenfold, but no other "name" dj, then sasha but no other "name" dj, then james zabiela and no other "name" dj.
is there a weekly budget and then the booking team uses their budget based on the acts they get? obviously sasha and train wreck oak cost more than morgan page so there is more room in the budget this saturday for other djs to try and draw a crowd.
Zabiela i would expect to be more in line with morgan page as opposed to sasha, so a tad surprised there is no other dj on the bill that will draw a crowd.
i hope that if the music box is charging $$$$ for axwell, and since its doubtful he plays an extended set at billy stated, that they bring out mr. pre-recorded mixes, his brother and max vag! |

Zabiela is very capable of filling Avalon on his own. He's had no trouble in the past. |

im just curious if every week has a set stash of cash and you either put it to full use and book 1 huge act for $30,000 or cut corners and try to spend $15,000 knowing you have to keep ticket cost down to half as much perhaps due to the dj not being as "big".
i saw james once, nacional, TINY place wasnt full. maybe it had to do with it being a monday, or rain, or blackout...who knows.
So lets assume JZ gets 1/2 of what sasha does, avalon merely has a more profitable night with zabiela?
obviously if tickets cost half as much for JZ as for sasha, the ticket revenue to booking fee ratio would be the same if we assumed an equal amount of attendees. |

Their stuff is planned out a few months in advance. I'm sure they have a max amount they can spend every week, I doubt they ever hit it though. |
