Well the first one had valid pretense. Problem is we stayed too long, about 9 years and 8 months too long.
We should have bombed Afghanistan back to before the stone age and made sure they were too busy killing each other to let groups train there. Then we should have used special operations to hunt down bin Laden and other higher elements. Its obvious that special operations have done far more for our war on terror than normal military operations have.
