What genre is the most legit in 2011?

Dubstep ... too childish candy etard emo. overplayed. everyone's heard it already and is starting to get sick of it. zero cool points.

Post Dubstep / Future Garage ... creative percussion! boring music.

Tech house ... people woke up and realized this genre is a bunch of filler tracks. NOT cool anymore.

Progressive house ("brogressive"?) ... ultra overload epic pop!!!! all the bells and whistles of 20 years of candy rave sounds, stapled and elmer glued all over a swedish house mafia track. 100% dancefloor effective. 0% cool.

Discoey Deep house ... slow loopy edits of late 70's to early 80's disco. where all the minimal/tech house hipsters migrated to. this might be the closest candidate for current legit scene where sunglasses, mustaches, low v necks, and hippy headbands can take shelter, but its starting to die off because people are waking up and realizing the music is slow loopy edits of late 70's to early 80's disco.

Conclusion: EDM ran out of ideas. now what?

You clearly don't know anything about GOOD progressive house in 2011.
SYSTEM-J
Do you want music that's cool, or music with ideas?

Actually let me rephrase:

You clearly don't know anything about good music in 2011. Who gives a what's cool. EDM was never about that anyway.

Obviously he's asking what music is cool right now. What's wrong with that? Does anyone exclusively listen to so-called 'music with ideas'? That's a hundred times more wack than asking what music is cool.

I don't think the slow disco/boogie/house thing is done yet. maybe as much as it was tech house kids trying to stay on the trend, but that's because they are soulless k-tards

"Beat Music'

'nu-bounce music'

not sure how to call this one, but there is a cadre of post punk kids making chicago house these days, which i really like. maybe 'alt-house'? 'nu-house'?

there is a proliferation of 'occultic' electronica and dance music these days, witch house, ghe20 goth1k, dark ambient, with a 'ritual' theme. which i really dig

i also am hearing a lot of industrial/noise tinged dance tracks and dancepunk stuff that is pretty awesome

also there is kind of nostalgic 'nu-electrofunk' stuff coming out that i'm loving

In all seriousness I think deep house has the most to offer from a musical standpoint

If it's so obvious, why does he end his post with "Conclusion: EDM ran out of ideas. now what?" And I suppose it makes perfect sense that you think it's more whack to ask for creatively interesting music than music that scores "cool points".

hate to say it but i agree. deep house always had the most authenticity and staying power. organic instrumentation, black vocals, its hard to diss.

system-j, just read the title and answer.
