Wrong son

1 person who owns a small label with 15 tracks in the 'queue' and a release schedule of about 4 tracks a month in the not too distant.

That ain't gonna put his kids through college and I know that it's a small label, but I'm a legitimate potential customer nevertheless.

I'll admit that my first post was a little harsh, but to be patronised by some dude who can't even be bothered to post up prices or examples ain't for me.

Luckily I don't suffer from hero worship, so I'll continue using the professional mastering engineer I've already established a relationship with.

I'm assuming this is the same thomas penton of the renowned drum sample packs? If so that alone gives merit, and the stem mastering service sounds intriguing, but previous reactions aside I also have a typical volume set that is appropriate for most sources, and clicking on that page gave me a bit of a blast aswell.

I'd much rather turn up something that is a bit soft if I like the sound of it, than have to scramble to turn down something too loud that I wasn't expecting.

Agree with the other points here that if you're spruking a service essentially the more convincing evidence on that page of your capability of providing that service the more business you're likely to get.. (if not atleast from anyone who doesn't know the name already)

A website is like a restaurant shop front.

If there's no menu, and a lack of any sense of what you might be getting, it tells me I need to walk on by. Lack of attention to detail points to something, regardless of past glory.

You all have valid points, and I understand everyone opinion here. But I prefer to keep my post limited and as it states if you require additional info, for anyone to then email me. Then via email is when I provide the additional info about the service I offer. I just prefer doing it this way.

And my website is my personal website, more focused on my musical productions. It is not intended to provide specific details about my mastering service, nor do my sample cds. This is why in my original post I did not include my website as an additional source of info for this. I only posted the web address after someone requested it. My website only states basic info about the service as same stated here.

I am sorry my 'abrupt loud' music disturbs some, but we all know when going to a music related website the chances of music autoloading & playing are common. Again, the music playing is not to show examples of the mixing/mastering services.

We all know what mixing & mastering is to some degree. If someone is interested in what I do, then they can email me that simple. [email protected]

You need to realize this is an open discussion forum, which you have joined specifically to use as a method of free advertising. Granted, your services are directly related to the topic of discussion here, but this thread is still barely a step above a banner ad.

So, that said, nobody owes you anything just because you've been in the industry for 23 years. The fact that you're demanding respect from a community that you're taking advantage of for free advertising is a little strange to me.

If you're going to do this, go ahead, but give us a good reason to want to use your services. Have a website ready, or at the very least type out some information that would give us a reason to want to use your services, instead of just dropping an e-mail address and expecting us to do the hard work for you. You're advertising here, for free, the least you can do is sell your services in a way that actually appears interesting to us. Explain what you do, what you do it with, how much it costs, when we can expect to get our tracks back, post some examples of your work, etc. etc... we're not asking for anything unreasonable.

@Thomas - While you've got a respected name, you need to know the background, which hopefully will let you understand some of the more "direct" comments you've been getting;

1, In the past, A lot of people have come on to this forum offering their mastering services, which amount to nothing more than spamming a forum they care nothing for or never contribute to.

2, In many of these cases, it eventually turns out these people have worse equipment than the bedroom producer that they're trying to get business from. IN the worst of cases, it's a guy in an untreated room, with entry level KRK's slapping Ozone on the master.

3, Furthermore, it's been from people who seem to have no credentials when it comes to mastering and are adverse to posting up samples of previous work.

For instance, I'm a film score mix engineer as my day job and have worked on many major international release projects and done this for several years now - I would not for one second ever try to charge for mastering - it's a completely different discipline to any other form of engineering and all the mastering engineers I know have done it, and only it, for years on equipment that is in a different league.

Obviously, you have expericence when it comes to sample creation and a respected name, but I'm just trying to point out that it may not mean much to some other people on here given the history.

I understand your reasons for wanting people to PM, but you'll have way more success if you list what you use and what you've done.
