Yeah why play a mash up of a great track?
Like I say I think its probably the more house/techno orientated crowd coming to see him at Space that has caused this. He plays pure instrumental proggy trance and there is no response. He plays a big vocal and the place goes nuts even if its trancy or not. So he carries on this way.
This is what friends have said seeing him at Space. Moments of greatness but others its quite cheesy and loads of vocals to please the crowd and hence a bit boring to all of us.
Its a shame but It might be the trade off he has to remain popular yet play the style of music he wants to as well. |
It sucks to read that, but you are true..
Why playing instrumental proggy, it's not for us but for the crowd who don't like it :( |

| Wow heard Prydz play this at the opening party of "Tonight @ Amnesia" which took over from Armada. It was brand new then. Nopt surprised its probably been the biggest tune of the summer. Quite simply special |

Tiesto only started playing loads of vocals once he fell out of love with trance and started playing house music. I think in this case its Armin trying to please everyone which he ultimately cant do because he is a trance dj at heart and always will be. Tiesto is a different animal for me.
Armin at least does it cuz he has some sembelance of love for the pure trance ethic and sound. For me Tiesto never had that, it was all about getting massive and what worked for him at that time. I think their careers are similar but this whole "armin copys tiesto" thing is a load of old tosh. |
i'll respectfully disagree and wont go into it any further because thats not what this thread is for.
now lets enjoy a good track while it lasts. :p |

Universal Religion 5 at least seems to be a message to folk that THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO PLAY. From Armin, speaking in the video preview of UR5 he certainly feels that way. And then some of the things he says like "to BE or not to BE at Space that is the question?". HE should be at Amnesia still for me.
Wow Anothert amazing record:

I dont want to get into a huge debate either. However I was a massive Tiesto fan in his trance days and no one is more dissapointed in how it all turned out than I am. I just never see Armin going completely commercial, he has too much love for trance in him and I mean real proper trance like you heard in the first hour and what is on Universal Religion 5. |
