Had tix in hand, got there at 10 (bad planning on my part, admittedly). Saw the clusterf of people who had tix waiting to get in and gave up after 10 mins. Went to Cherry and had a great time. Blondish really delivered, and I was pleasantly surprised. Great to see a lot of faces I hadn't come across in a while.
Would have liked to have made the TA meetup. Hope to catch you all next time. |

Worst admission ever (last Saturday). Got there at 8h30pm and they didn't have my tickets at the guestlist, even if someone called me on the same day to confirmed. The event was already sold out, so I had to call one of my promoters to get tickets at the very last minute.
I waited an hour in a crazy violent crowd crushed into fences. L'entrée était en entonnoir, alors imaginez la furie des gens. One girl in front of me had a nose bleed! From my professional point of view, it was sure that 4 scanners et 4 security wasn't enough for that kind of crowd, a big fail.
When I finally got in, there was a 4 minutes line up for the restrooms (not bad at all) but another 30 minutes to get money from the only working ATM in 5km (2 others out of $) Another fail. You wanna make money, you need more then one ATM.
Then the magic started!!! yeh! Music was really up-lifting, the crowd was great, good energy. I got my fix at the end when I got a little more Housie, I'm old school. So I danced my frustration away and got back home with a smile. |

That was my first very unpleasant experience at Igloofest due to the insane amount of people. Jan 30th 2009. I left early but also because we had a plan that worked out great in the end:
We had booked James Holden at circus the same night after his set at Igloo. A risk that paid off since it attracted about 1200 people.
Holden was on a crazy 3-day schedule that weekend:
Thursday: Dagobert @ QC
Friday: Igloofest + Circus @ MTL
Saturday: Footwork @ Toronto
