We had booked James Holden at circus the same night after his set at Igloo. A risk that paid off since it attracted about 1200 people. |
Someone should have done this with Dettmann & Klock. I'm sure the place would have been full. |

Dissertation! , spin, you're totally on to me :)
Alas, I'm not in MTL right now, which means I get to miss Dettmann, Klock, MJC, and Tale of Us. Can you imagine my sorrow? |

So Maya Jane Coles was pretty ing terrible last night. The beginning of her set, I wouldn't call it a train wreck; her beatmatching was fine but the transitions weren't smooth whatsoever, the individual tracks she were playing were pretty good.. just some mixes honestly sounded like she was just using the crossfader. She got a little more comfortable at the end, volume was about half as loud as Green Velvet which was odd. I understand you don't wanna steal his thunder but .
Pretty upset I can't make it tonight, got a bday supper to go to. Smash it out Nadir! |

^likewise :p
Was trying to get there last night to take some shots of the opening guy (nice kid, friend of a friend)... but then my bus crashed into the sidewalk.
Took me 2 hours to get to school to grab my gear, and by that time MJC was on and my fever was coming back :(

Nice and smooth set by Maya. Mixing so so but good tracks. Took her too long to crank it up a notch and sound was too low I agree.
By the time Green Velvet came on the place was packed so we stayed behind and had more drinks. When he played a remix of Adele and girls were singing along, it was time to go home... |

found out tickets online were sold out so got my ticket at off the hook since i was just around the corner...wow...honestly, there was a lineup in that store for igloofest tix from the minute i got in (i was in there also buying some shoes). the phone would not stop ringing with people asking for tix.
gonna stop by early for nadir's set because i have a feeling this may be the busiest igloofest yet. see you guys tonight. |

| Tonight should be awesome, believe it or not I liked Green Velvet way more than Maya Jane Coles. Can't blame her , she doesn't play festival music, but man that was boring.. |

Had tons of fun dancing in the puddles, that was pretty much the only spot with no one pushing.
I think it was the warmest Igloofest ever. |

great time overall. my first igloofest of the year and you could see it really starting to transform from year to year.
i really enjoyed klock & dettmann's set. some of the tracks they played were out of this world. i did however feel like they didn't capture my entire attention as i lost interest a few times, but overall i was very happy to make it out for this one.
the pushing was a bit too much and i bailed by about 11.
also great job by nadir on the warmup.
few track ids? the remix of "forget the world", anyone know which remix that was? they also played a track that had a vocal that kept repeating "are you there?", anyone have a clue? |
