Arty's mixing and EQ-work is really, really awful if this broadcast is the master out.

seriously, it's like he's getting worse as the set goes along...

Finally have a tiny bit of a signal, spent over an hour in traffic going up and down Arrowhead (big flashing sign showed "parking - left turn" but then it was coned off, so you had to make a U turn and go back the way you came. Turn off the f*cking sign if you can't turn there!!!

Got to entrance around 8:30, and it started pouring while I was waiting in line! Not so impressed with Arty, so checked the Beyond Wonderland app to find the Chessire Woods stage. No such luck, app map is not working. I'm currently in an unmarked indoor stage, no idea where I'm at or who is playing.

Heading to the main Trance stage at 11:30 for Armin, and hope it gets MUCH better from here!

How was armins set? Crazy to think that the last time he played in Los Angeles(or close to it) was 21 months ago. Why such gap especially for a big dj like armin.

I know he's had his moment of scrutiny lately but been pretty impressed with his sets as of late. Perfect balance to please all fans

Edc right?

Armin was planning on just focusing on the big events in LA. and there was the huge gap for when he played because of Armin Only, which was cancelled.

I enjoyed Armin's set a lot more than I expected to, I gotta say

Gareth has his own style, but his set was killer for a massive like this.

Arty's programming needs a lot of work and his mixes were beginner bedroom DJ level. Could literally hear his next tracks just slowly fading in over the course of 30 seconds to a minute sometimes and then he'd kick the bass over, and it sounded awful because his EQing was bad. Not even sure if his mixing was harmonic, didn't sound like it sometimes.

Didn't hear any others, but heard there were a lot of great sets other than Fei-Fei, who opened. As Edgar said (I forget his TA name), " it went from Dubstep, hard dance, Commeical (wild one with david guetta) to skrillex, to avicii. it was ALL over the place."

...and it did get much better. Turned out that I was in the Chessire Woods stage, right where I wanted to be. Odd that the security guy didn't know the name of the stage he was stationed at though...lol

The music that I heard from Beyer and Dubfire was awesome! Came back to the main stage for the last part of Gareth's set and my jaw dropped when I saw how many people were there! Gareth played a lot of his signature tracks, as expected, and then on came Armin. I think it was Armin, anyway, couldn't really see the stage for a good half hour, and with VIP closing off the left side and the first few tent openings closed off on the right side, it was sardine packed! Virtually impossible to move in any direction, but I did eventually make it up near the front by 1:30am. Very friendly crowd though, they all just wanted to see Armin!

My opinion from this night is that Trance has been discovered, maybe the crowd has moved on from the Guetta, Avicii sound and is beginning to appreciate quality music? ;)

Of course, it's just one event, but I never dreamed that the Trance stage would have such a huge draw! The ASOT 550 tshirts were sold out in my size early in the night too. I really enjoyed Armin's set, just the right mix of new tracks along with the tried and true.

Wanted to hear Digweed as well, but I wasn't about to leave that tent back into the freezing rain...until the end, where everyone stood in line for at least 20 minutes to get OUT of the venue. Logistical nightmare getting in and out, but a good night overall, and can't really blame Insomniac about the weather. The damn parking signage, however... :whip:

Are you going to Den Bosch? My Trance Energy crew will be getting together again at Dam Square for ASOT550.

over all good night...it was freezing!! Getting in was fast..Went to the main stage to catch arty and omg was that the worst set i heard from a main stage DJ. On top of it the main stage sound was weak! I ended up being right under a speaker and couldnt really hear the highs at all and the bass wasnt turned up that loud.

The event was great! I've been to Ultra and I really enjoyed how Insomniac really makes an effort to make the festival interactive and fun for it's attendees, kinda sucks though that mother nature chooses to be ugly the one day Beyond Wonderland happens but hey, stuff happens.. It was still enjoyable.

The ASOT stage was HUGE! And packed all the way to the back.. I came in and somhow managed to make my way into up front middle. Saw the end of Callahan's set and it was banging! And Fila's set kept the energy flowing and then Arty came in, aside the technicalities he's track selection was a hands in the air.. people sucked it all in! .. Then I decided to go and explore the grounds since it stopped raining and hit up Beyer for a good portion which I really enjoyed, then back to the last bit of Emery's set and again people were enjoying it! I was surprised how much more packed and bigger the ASOT stage was ( and how much nicer the crowd in it were!? ) Anyways.. we decided to sneak back in, though it was so crowded inside it started to overflow outside the tent.. Then 10 minutes before Armin's time, it was so crowded that I couldn't move or dance, but then tours the middle of he's set things eased up a bit.
Really enjoyed he's set and it was a very fun, nice crowd overall !

Now GETTING to the festival was a whole other issue. I was literally stuck on the ramp leading tours the NOS entrance for a good 30 -45 mins, enough time to play with google maps and see that there was another exit just half a mile away leading to the park as well.. which I took.. Had I stayed on the ramp? easily an hour or more wait.. as for parking? What's with the signs and then having those streets blocked off? .. Getting out same story.. aside from that.. great way to spend $55 bucks
