I have to agree with Jenny and Jay here. It isn't very difficult to pick up on the cues if you know what to look for... micro expressions, body language (angle, positioning, phisiological reactions), behaviours (preening, mimicry, etc), intonation, etc. Granted, I'm a trained investigator but really just being observant of others during interactions rather than being a conversational narcissist and you should be able to pick this up with ease.

This is precisely what I'm trying to say: You need to know what to look for... if you don't, and I defend that men more often than women do not in fact know what to look for, then you're illiterate and miss most hints.
It's no coincidence that Brian says he's like that and that I'm claiming I used to be the same way. Women are more social, to my knowledge, so they pick these things up faster... but that doesn't mean guys are all self-absorbed egotists that live like hermits in isolation from the outer world.

Funny timing of this thread though, cause my hairdresser and I just had this conversation about a mutual friend when I was getting my hurrr done last week, lol.
